Hey..so glad you checked in even though you are feeling like a bunch of crapola right now. Ice cream is surely a wonder drug and I went through tons of it when I was on chemo. I'm sure you've tried everything under the sun to sleep and I'm so sorry nothing is working. The only thing that did it for me was taking big deep breaths and counting on the inhale and exhale. Never could make it to 25. I think about you every single day and keep hoping you are soon going to be over the "run over by a truck" feeling. A robin????

Glad that you feel like eating and it tastes like something, I hope. You definitely don't have to sound upbeat with us, gripe away, once in a while you need a sounding board. During the chemo time I wished I was an elephant, so that I could put my face and mouth in the filled bathtub and hang my trunk over the shower curtain rod to breathe.

So wonderful to hear your voice again George! Yes, I know... it's not really spoken outloud, but I would swear, if I close my eyes and listen very carefully.... maybe it's with that inner voice that mother's use for their children, or that same inner hearing that helps me hear my grandfather's voice, even though he's long gone. I can hear every note. The accent, how each syllable is intoned, the deepness of it. The voice of a dear friend.... and it's music to my ears.
Don't worry about complaining or whining to us. Lord knows, you've listened to all of our complaining & moaning over the years, and tried to lighten our loads. Just for a little while, why don't you let us try to do you the same favor?

George, you may feel like the garbage truck tossed you to the pavement and then ran over you, but just to see you posting does so much for so many of us! I know being stoic is your nature, but let us help by listening to some of your issues. As said above, you have certainly done that for so many of us. And Leone, please take care of yourself, also.

Ice cream and iced tea (no sweetener) always helped me when I felt puny. Anyway, I'm all for any excuse for having ice cream. Enjoy it!

Please come when you can and there is no such thing as a complaint here. Thank Ms. Leone for snitching on you (you men and your pride, sheesch) and give her a hug. Make sure she gives you kisses as they have healing properties and snuggle with the kitties, as theyhave the same.

Funny you should mention robins. The other day I got up and all the birds were acting bizarre, flitting from tree to bush to tree constantly. It was between blizzards so I thought foraging at first but they didn't stop to eat. Then a little while later I saw the same thing but this time it was all robins. Dozens and dozens of robins. I never see flocks of robins. Just the normal ones that come each spring. Odd.

Yesterday, when got home from being out in the cold, the robins were up against the house (I assume looking for some warmth?). I've never seen that?! I told them they could stay as we went past to go inside, but they flew away anyhow. They are still all over the yard, searching through the not so thick snow. Our worms are likely to be frozen too, but maybe they all want popsicles.

It is so good to hear from you. I (and some wonderful neighbors) dug out close to four feet of snow just so I could get to a computer and check how you were doing. Like others here, I think of you often and hope that you are feeling better.

George, Katrina got some aloe gel at the health food store.
It really helped when she was having the radiation and her throat was in such bad shape. She also ate a lot of banana popsicles and boiled custard.

If your cat stops entertaining you, I'll send Sassi to make you laugh. She's a hoot.
