2nd season Michigan Lawn - patchy dark and light

In mid-May, I fertilized with Scott's Turf Builder with +2 Weed Control. 28-3-3.

My broadcast spreader wasn't spreading evenly and spread quite heavily in some areas. As you can see from my attached photos, my lawn is now patchy with dark, plush areas and many yellowish-green slow growing areas. It's not pretty. At first I assumed that the lighter yellowish areas were burnt with the heavy fertilized areas. Now, after looking at it, I think that the darkest, thick areas are actually the heaviest fertilized areas.

I'm a rookie and need some help. What can I do to correct this problem and make my lawn nice looking again? The lawn was seeded last summer and this is it's 2nd summer. Thank you.
