another killer haul at lowe's!!! somebody stop me!!!
Comments (27)Wow, I'm glad I'm not that cynical and suspicious. We're just happy gardeners who like a good plant-related bargain. Yeah, it does depend on the individual store. I have two within 10 minutes of my house. One has a larger garden center and thus more space to keep all the plants well displayed. The smaller one is the one with the great clearance rack. I guess they can't afford to have plants past their prime in prime display locations, so they clear them out. Connie, I'm still laughing about the dandelion sale. That's too funny. Yeah...I don't go to Lowes for garden advice. Lisa...See MoreSomebody stop me . . .
Comments (10)Okay, went to Lowes to get the hose reel that was on sale and couldn't find the thing at any store. I went to five before finally a manager just gave me a substitution. During my quest I bought: A really beautiful wind chime on clearance (2.57 for a large one!) Four quart size Achilleas for a buck each! Two Oenotheras on clearance and two hanging baskets full of dianthus for only 2.49 each. The baskets were worth that alone. Oh, and then I needed some shepherds hooks for the baskets and I went to Roses and bought them and 2 Caladiums and 4 Tuberous Begonias. The primrose is in the ground, but due to the rain everything else are still in their pots. Hope I get them in before my Mahonias that I ordered arrive, aquifolium, not Belei, don't worry!! I am so double done with any more plants this year. I hope the rain keeps up!!...See Moresomebody stop me
Comments (6)Haha. I did snatch up one of the first batch (?) of Golden Flame. :P So glad you got one! I want everyone to get this plant. It's so pretty!! Congratulations on blooming blashernaezii! That's dead exciting! I really love this group of plants. They are delicate looking, yet resilient. This round, I was snagging the flagellata. A year ago I would have said I didn't trust myself to grow this species, but I am seeing very good results from my caudatas, so I think I'm ready! (I hope :)) I am also engaged in the anulata obsession! /high five!...See MoreHelp! Somebody Stop Me
Comments (17)Lovely looking FWs shown, Sherry and Bernd. Mine did okay until early June and then it began to sunburn too. And I was watering every day by that time. Still, it set a lot of seedpods. It will have a different location next year, where it gets some early light and all shade thereafter. It isn't my favorite, but it is a lot better than Sugar Daddy. FarmGrl, you keep on with the hosta. Everyone here is likely to urge you on, not suggest you stop. :) Since you are zone 8, and you want to keep this one in a pot until spring at least, listen to what BKay tells you. She knows the zone. Mine is zone 9a, a wee bit warmer in the winter....See Moreshmea123
