I got me all set with some of that righteous bud Shib was flakkin out at weedfest but every time I fix to roll a fattie some wack stem busts the fold! What y'all do 'sides just sit and pick through your pile?"

Colleenoz, LOL I love that idea. I don't know what I was thinking about doubling the recipe, since each person would get half a potato. There'll be enough for everyone! Problem solved! Caminnc, I hope the potatoes turn out great for you and may there be no leftovers on those :-). Here are the recipes! Enjoy! Fried Green Tomatoes (NOTE: I took two recipes and combined them). Mom and I have used the recipe that was on the box of Whistle Stop Fried Green Tomato Batter, which you just mix the dry batter with water and dip the salted tomatoes into it). Firm, Green Tomatoes Flour White Cornmeal Beaten Eggs (you can also use milk; Paula Deen used eggs and buttermilk for hers) Salt and Pepper Slice tomatoes about 1/4 inch thick. Spread onto plate or baking sheet. Sprinkle salt evenly over tomatoes. Continue placing tomato slices layer over previous layer, until all tomatoes have been salted. Let tomatoes set for 6 hours (Optional; NOTE: We have let them set for about 10 minutes while heating the skillet and they turned out fine) to draw out the water. Remove from container (refrigerated or set out on counter). Mix flour, corn meal, salt and pepper in a bowl. Dip tomatoes in flour, then into eggs or milk, and coat again with flour mix. Set tomatoes aside (up to 30 minutes if you're not in a hurry). Heat oiled skillet over medium heat. Place tomatoes in oil, reducing heat when neccessary. Fry both sides until golden brown, and let tomatoes drain on paper towels. Serve hot with Vidalia Onion Dressing if desired. Vidalia Onion Dressing 1 cup onions, diced 2 Tablespoons rice (or red) wine vinegar 1/2 cup mayo 1 Tablespoon brown sugar Mix all ingredients together and let chill. Serve over Fried Green Tomatoes. Warm weather, walked to the parking lot today after work, had training and an 8 hour day today. It was about 50 today. Looking forward to April 1st so I can start parking in the parking structure across from work. No more waiting on the shuttle bus, having to move my car in the evening or hoping it's not towed on stupid UK game weekends. Also looking forward to our trip to Germany in four months!! It's been over 19 years since I've been there. I signed up for an obesity seminar for medical people. It's in a couple weeks. I'm going for myself and to learn something to maybe help my patients.

I kept so busy this winter that for once the dreary season flew by! I actually had not thought about plants or seeds or much at all related to gardening until about a week ago. Very unusual for me, since I usually have hundreds of seedlings growing in my basement by now. However, I just started a temp job in which they made it clear my job was to wait for the phone to ring and make coffee, so I started to peruse my favorite plant sites and forums in my free time...and I started recalling all the plants I bought or obtained last summer...soooo much to welcome this year. A partial list off the top of my bored head: Masterwort (3 colors) Russian Sage Endless Summer & Annabelle Hydrangeas 3 colors of asters Turtlehead Several new sedum varities Several mum varieties Delphinium Hollyhocks Champlain Roses that were hiding under some hedges in the front Dwarf Joe Pye Poppies Lamb's Ear Northern Light's Mandarian 2 varieties of Ligularia Iris Tulips (offered to me by a neighbor and HAD to dig them up in June to get them...so hoping they made it through the year) Allium Euphorbia Polychroma (and a red one whose name escapes me at the moment) ....and more Not to mention...I finally braved splitting the fern peony that was here when I moved in and was able to split it into 14 divisions. I placed them all around the house, so I'm hoping to see a lovely display this spring.
