Odorus campernelli. This is nearly always my very first daffodil to bloom: typically by the first week of February. (note that I do live in zone 7b). It is lovely in every way. The clusters of trumpets are dainty, but show from a long distance, the foliage is very thin, and best of all, the blooms can last six weeks or more in the chill of late winter.

I have many favorites among the Large Cupped. I agree about Fortissimo It is among the first to bloom and I have it in a large grouping. Love it. Then I also really like Pineapple Prince, love the contrast also like Billy Graham, it's a little hard to capture it in a pic, it is such as nice pink cup with yellow petals. Oh, also Fragrant Rose, it does so well for me. Geezz, looks like I can't just pick one favorite. :) Cindy

I have very little space for daffodils to consume, but I liked Tet e tete so much that I gave it space. The foliage doesn't require as much room to ripen as the larger bulbs. I also have one split cup Daffodil called Cassata. It is indestructible. Goes from yellow cup to all white as it ages. It just passed prime a week ago: Cassata: I like all your dafs, but especially the ones with the long trumpet like Shorter Alliance and Wisely..............Maryl

I probably should know, but what breed is Charlie? He has quite the adorable puppy mug. I'm sorry you lost so many companions in the last few years. What fun you will have training a new puppy though............I really like all your winter bulbs. The double Hellebores are especially nice. I have one Hellebore, but I seldom think to look at it. I'll get out there tomorrow to see if it's blooming now that I've seen yours.........Maryl
