I rarely use the Joy of Cooking….. anymore… although you can plainly see it’s been through the ringer, as my father’s book on the right was, so long ago. He became a Chef de Cuisine here in the ancient times. From mid ’50’s till he passed in the early ’80’s. He had numerous books on food and wine, though this one looks like the most loved. That ziploc in the middle has all my scribbled notes. Putting it in some kind of order is, I think #247? 🤔 on my to-do list

My weekly menu

One of my late sister's daughters took her recipe for vegetable soup and had it put on a cutting board. She gave one to her two sisters and one to me. It is in my sister's handwriting which makes it extra special to me.

I had my mom’s revipes printed on towels for gifts to my nieces. Moms nickname was Sarge, with good reason. The shortbreads were for a sale at a fair, hence the huge size of the ingredients
