Comments (18)Just be SURE you have someone proofread it before you make signs or have printing done and ask to see the proofs before anything is printed. The Georgia Master Gardeners once ordered 500 tee shirts that came back silk screened as "Master Gardners" We spelled it right but they didn't follow copy....See MoreWhat do you say to the critics?
Comments (18)The neighbors might be asking for reasons other than noseyness. I was talking about remodeling with a neighbor down the block the other day. The house next to them has been undergoing a major remodel (almost a rebuilding plus they put in a pool did a total relandscape and put in a guest house). This has been going on for half a year and they seem to work on it almost every day - even weekends starting early and often make a lot of noise. He wasn't mad or anything but it is a inconvenience to him to have such a protracted remodel going on and he will be glad when they are done. I remember when we did a major relandscaping job on our previous house that included the front yard. It took a couple of months and the neighbor across the street remarked upon it looking like a war zone. It sorta did look that way for several weeks - all torn up bare earth with trenches. It was very nice when it was all done but during the renovation it wasn't an asset to the neighborhood. Renovations often involve at least minor inconveniences to neighbors - temporary assaults on their ears or eyesores. So it might be best for good relations to reply with something that acknowledges that it may cause some inconvenience for them and enlists their sympathy for the greater inconveniences you have living with the renovation....See MoreCharacteristics of a heritage thinker
Comments (7)My father, DH, DD and I were in Walmart a few months ago. I put shampoo in the basket. A while later, I noticed the shampoo was leaking out because DD accidentally sat on it. I cleaned it up and said, "Oh well." We then went and paid, and I bought the shampoo that had leaked. Later that day, my dad told me he was impressed that I had not simply put the not-full bottle back on the shelf and grabbed a full one. I said, that would not be right, and would not be fair to the next shopper who may buy it. Dad told me he was very proud of me, and I told him that throughout life he had set a good example of ethics for my brother and I. I'm far from perfect, but I can't bear to think something I do might do harm to others. So I'd say one of my role models in life is my Dad. So I guess my litmus is a) the law of the country you reside in b) whether something might do harm to another person (even if it is legal). As a former WCOM employee who quit last year because I didn't like Bernie's ethics even then, I don't see how he can sit back and see nothing wrong with collecting his $1.7mil/year pension when I know of too many people his greed harmed (including myself and my pension/401k). I'll quote Tally Sue's favorite quote (sorry TS!! for stealing this!) "First, do no harm." Too bad Bernie didn't think that way....See MoreWhich condo? Slow mover and over thinker here!
Comments (54)"What condo would you choose? Thank you for your thoughts." Personally, I don't think I would choose either one if they lack things that are important to me that can't be easily changed. Not having an outdoor space for a simple pleasure like morning coffee would be a deal breaker. Potty pads for a dog have no appeal to me. Part of the reason to have a dog vs a cat is that a dog makes you get up and move, go out for walks.... whether you want to or not. lol. Litter boxes are bad enough, but washing pads, ew. I get the feeling, that if you chose one of these, you would be settling for something you don't really want and have regrets....See More- 8 months agolast modified: 8 months ago
