Comments (5)Too many pillows on the bed, and I'm afraid the room looks rather cold. I would add another color, perhaps yellow, to warm up the room, and pale yellow curtains with gray walls would look great, and change some of the pillows to that color. The TV looks lonely, I would put a long, narrow console under it and find a way to attach the cord behind the TV. You could put large candle holders with yellow candles on the console, but don't crowd it with too much "stuff" otherwise. I wouldn't paint the wall too deep a gray, make it a warm middle tone so the room looks cozy....See MoreHelp decorating master bedroom
Comments (23)Art over the TV is still too high. Artwork should be at eye height - so the centre of the artwork should be approximately 58" from the floor. I don't think you want art above the TV. The lamp is too small proportionally, but if you got a bigger one, I think you'd be on the right track. I'm not a huge fan of the bed under the window - but I read in bed and don't like leaning up against a window/curtains etc. (especially when the grand-cat thinks it's fun to attack my head from behind the curtains - the bed we use at the house in the city, now occupied by our kids, happens to be under a window). I also like to open windows at night and don't like cold air blowing on my head. But those are my issues - visually, I think it needs bedside tables - and functionally, for me, they're a must. (see: reading in bed...not to mention a lamp or clock radio or cell phone or reading material or glasses etc.) Small bedside tables are available - something like this would go with your dressers and is only 17"X14": https://www.houzz.com/products/night-owl-night-stand-in-warm-brown-finish-prvw-vr~28098748 That's just one of many options......See MoreHelp decorating new master bedroom
Comments (17)I think a rug would be nice when getting out of bed. That may be the one thing to concentrate on right now to go with the quilt. I think Pottery barn has a linen slipcover for a headboard. I bought my headboard at the Pottery barn outlet. Sometimes they have 40% off their prices. Your bedroom has such a nice layout, you don’t have to work around any negatives. I couldn’t find the wall color online. Is it a white or slightly blue? At any rate it looks nice. White linens are my favorite. They are easy to bleach and always look fresh. I do have an upholstered linen look headboard but I am careful to use a euro pillow while reading in bed. I wouldn’t choose one again unless it had a washable cover. Rooms to Go used to have a nice cottage style wood bed. One of the paneled beds. You could go with a lighter pine too. If you find something you like, post it here if you want opinions. We have a lot of those....See MorePlease Help with Large Master Bedroom decorating.
Comments (15)I’d find a fabric that you love with your wall color....and start there. Or, find a large area rug with that color in it as your inspiration. A Persian style, perhaps, that includes other colors that can be picked out for fabrics to dress your windows, your bed, and seating in front of your beautiful fireplace. I feel an elegant style emerging..... I know that Houzz designers will come up with idea boards that will inspire you! A lovely room!...See Moretracefloyd
