Need help decorating master bedroom
Comments (18)Agree on the furniture placement that you have. Thanks for the photos. So, if you keep the bed under the window, the best looks seem to be a full ceiling-to-floor drapery behind the bed. Right now, there are several different horizontal lines (blinds, headboard and swag) competing with each other. The long drapery changes all that so there is only one horizontal line, and that would be the headboard. In your room, I'd consider long drapes behind the bed, and eliminate the swag and the blinds. The two rooms below used a light sheer to get daylight into the room, and a heavy drapery for light control at night. The third room used a heavy grommet drapery and no sheers. All these room's have larger bedside lamps....See MoreHELP! Master Bedroom decorating ideas
Comments (19)I think the blue rug is a modern style runner ? (gorgeous color!) But I don't think it works in the way you are using it. Is there a hallway leading into your bedroom where you could use it maybe? It goes nicely with your art; maybe it comes in a larger size to use as others have suggested? It's such a wonderful, spacious room, but it feels to me like the bed is kind of crammed into the area with the lower, angled ceiling, which limits end table space as well as limiting the height of lamps. I know you said the bed must stay, but it looks like a child's bed because it's so low and kind of squatty (like it's missing its legs?) in a room that could handle something taller, with more presence. You say your style is bold, but the bed is anything but! I would consider getting a bed that is just larger, taller, thicker, etc. And I would put the headboard on the wall where the TV is and move the TV to the alcove where the bed is. There might be other arrangements if you show us more of the room with doors and windows on a floor plan sketch. I'd probably ditch the couch in favor of something smaller and cozier, or a couple of chairs. When you decide on a rug (if you take that suggestion, then maybe some bolder bedding (on your new, more substantial bed ;-). Perhaps paint the hanging chair a bold color to go with the painting and rug - maybe it could go in front of the windows. If not paint, then bold pillows/cushions in it? Here's one painted blue: Maybe add some wallpaper somewhere....See Moremaster bedroom room decor help
Comments (16)First I would move the dresser to the all across from the bed. Unstuff that corner with the closet or bathroom door. Then I would add some jewel tones, a much larger rug under the bed, curtains and different lamps. https://jqueen-ny.com/collections/j-queen-new-york/products/lazaro-indigo-comforter-set https://www.lampsplus.com/products/richford-brass-plug-in-swing-arm-wall-lamp-with-dimmer__1r145.html https://www.rugs-direct.com/Details/Nourison-Concerto-CNC06/140973/226986?source=roomvo...See MoreHelp me decorate our master bedroom
Comments (14)I think I'm wanting to change up the space and open it up. I do like the idea of keeping rustic table tops to match the barn doors. I'm seriously looking for all and any suggestions. I'll have to add some ideas to my idea book...See MoreSara
