Never take another person’s paint colour recommendation as gospel. No one can say for sure which color will look best with the light in your space. Consider it a starting point only. Your window would look nice with some drapes along with your existing blinds.

Can you show a wider shot of the room. Is there anywhere else for the bed. It looks good there but sounds like every bit of light would help.

Not sure I’d do all white bedding. It’s kind of a pain to keep clean and bright white.

You could consider embracing the darkness of this room and go for a dark moody color too. That can be dramatic and soothing in a dark space.

Unfortunately the furniture cannot be moved. That is the best layout for the room. The wall opposite the dresser is a full length wall of closet doors and the wall opposite the bed is a short wall because it has the bedroom door and a door to the master bath as well as a small chest of drawers I do like the idea of some sort of pattern for the bedding since it will be the focal point and even though white would look nice it would be hard to keep clean especially with cat hair lol! I think bedding needs to come before the paint color. Sorry for the dark pics.

@goliscombe. Lol. There are a million articles on the web with the “perfect” color. There is no such thing. There are safe neutrals but no one can say “this” is the perfect color without seeing the room or the light in person. No offence. Just my opinion. :)

Bedding is a good start. You might also want to get a rug for interest beside/under the bed. Either could be used as a jumping off point for wall color. Most of us think light colours for paint because of the darkness, but sometimes white and other light colours just look dingy when there is not a lot of natural light. So don't be afraid to try colour too. I had a north-facing room with similar carpet colour and used BM Smoky Green which is a grayed blue/green colour that changes depending on light. The right blue might also work. What colours are you generally drawn to in your home and wardrobe? Do you like light colours or would you consider a dark, moody, or jewel box tone?

I generally like mid earthtone colors for my home. If that makes sense lol. I do have one room in my house that is a muted green. The rest are in the taupe family. There is a taupe in the master bedroom now but has a pinkish cast to it so I can't wait to get rid of that !

I would take off the swag and get heavier-material cream curtain panels with a much longer rod so that none of the window is obscured by the panels. I don't see anything wrong with your lamps. I like your second and especially the third bedding choice, and you might consider an area rug featuring the apricot color of the one pillow, along with other colors to make this room come alive. Colorful paintings on each side of your dresser would fill up those empty spaces nicely and further enhance the room and give it more personality. Pick something you really love, not just something generic to fill the spaces.

I would get rid of the chair or move it to another room. It’s taking up too much space. Do you use it? If you must have a chair, go for something with a smaller footprint. Can the doors be painted to match the trim color?

Agree on the furniture placement that you have. Thanks for the photos. So, if you keep the bed under the window, the best looks seem to be a full ceiling-to-floor drapery behind the bed.

Right now, there are several different horizontal lines (blinds, headboard and swag) competing with each other. The long drapery changes all that so there is only one horizontal line, and that would be the headboard. In your room, I'd consider long drapes behind the bed, and eliminate the swag and the blinds.

The two rooms below used a light sheer to get daylight into the room, and a heavy drapery for light control at night. The third room used a heavy grommet drapery and no sheers.

All these room's have larger bedside lamps.

I came across this comforter, which isn't transitional, and may not be at all to your taste, but very pretty, and light and light-hearted. So I thought it worth suggesting.
