The counter tops were installed today...what do you think? Many of you offered wonderful, thoughtful, comments about whether to go with Persa Pearl on the island or absolute black. We agonized over the decision and in the end decided to go with the black; I think we are pleased with the way it turned out. The extra thickness of the marble for the island looks good i think. The persa on the countertops ofcourse have great movement...in any case, let me know if you like? another view where you can see the persa on the near counter as well as the far.. a closer look at the persa pearl on the counter and here is how the corner piece turned out... So, what do you think?

White as you have, and trim a tone of the roof I can not really SEE well. Palm trees do not suggest a gray or a blue, frankly for the house itself. A mostly glass entry door may look nice. Post some more photos.......closer and other elevations.

Seems a shame to paint that brick. Maybe one of the photoshop gurus can do a mockup for you of some color options. I'm no expert, but this seems craftsman-esque, which are always so rich in color and contrast. Good luck with your decision.

Thank you to everyone for your input! It was a tough decision, but BM Rockport Gray won out in the end and we're very happy with it. Any of these colors would've looked great (no "perfect" color, in my opinion) and it was helpful to think about the overall look we wanted. This website is so useful to me, so just wanted to pay it forward with some pointers that may help anyone considering painting their exterior these colors: 1. Rockport Gray is a really pretty "warm" gray. In direct sunlight it looks almost beige-khaki, and in the shade or indirect light is where you see more gray. 2. RG does not clash with our reddish-brown roof! 3. I was surprised how much lighter the color came out to be. We might have been ok going a little darker, but in any case I'm still happy with it. Our original exterior color was so light, so I think that testing RG on top of it made RG seem much darker than it turned out to be. 4. It was really helpful to narrow down all 20 of our "warm gray/ greige" paints to just 3 or 4 samples. The paint chips are great suggestions to point you in the right direction, but after a while they start to look the same and you really don't know until you test it directly where it's going! 5. Our house is east-facing and the roof is multi-gabled, so we needed a color that would work with all sorts of (mostly direct) sunlight angles & roof appearances. We tested various paints in many spots and noticed right away with all paint colors that there's no one "true" shade that came through. Every test area looked different. Another reason why I think we had no "perfect" color! 6. Our trim color is Benjamin Moore White Dove. We wanted something softer/creamier but I think BM Simply White would've looked crisp and really nice as well with Rockport Gray. 7. We're also painting our doors a soft black! One of the reasons we went with RG is because we thought it was the best color to go with black doors, so it was helpful to think about the overall look (siding with trim with doors).
