Warm whites will have a yellow or pink undertone, otherwise they wouldn't be warm. The undertone can be more or less noticeable however. You didn't say - are you going to be repainting your trim, front door and garage doors? If so, give us a closer look at the brick. Have you brought home any paint chips yet? Are there some colors you've looked at and discarded? Do you know what the current color is? Do you have a preferred brand?

If you're hiring out the painting, chances are the painting contractor will have a preferred brand. You might as well find out what that is so you don't waste your time finding a color in the wrong brand. While it is possible to do color matching across brands, the results aren't always 100% accurate.

TY for your help & questions. Original brick paint was Glidden Smoked Pearl #3587, however after 35 years there is a chalky substance, which makes the brick look yellow. I was going to paint trim same as brick, as that seems to be the trend. Not sure about shutters and door color.
I’ve looked at SW Loggia, SW Simple White, BM White Dove, Farrow and Ball Stony Ground @ 50% and many more. I think I’m looking for a classic light greige. I have not picked a painter, as I am overwhelmed with color choice and making a big mistake.

What is efflorescence?

Efflorescence is the process by which salt migrates to the surface of a porous material where it forms a coating. The appearance of efflorescence is often described as a white, fluffy or powdery substance, but it can range in color from white to gray, brown, or even yellowish hues, depending on the type of salts present. Found on walls and other brick, stone or concrete surfaces, it occurs when evaporating water leaves behind salt deposits on the masonry. There are many installation problems which may lead to efflorescence:

• Using masonry products that are not fit for purpose or of poor quality, these salts can easily migrate to the surface
• Improper ground storage of façade material
• Use of masonry without sufficient ventilation
• Use of masonry in areas that lack a proper moisture barrier
• Joint material failure
• Improper construction techniques
• Environmental factors and climatic conditions, such as high humidity, heavy rainfall, or frequent freeze-thaw cycles.

IMO you need to address this problem before you even consider painting. This might be caused because acrylic paint as opposed to masonry paint or limewash was used on your brick. Your brick should be able to expel moisture and the acrylic paint is preventing that by sealing the moisture in. You may find more significant damage in the future in the brick.
