My apartment is only 1100 square feet. But it's solid plaster walls, and solid doors. The spring to the doorknob broke inside the locket, and my DD was trapped in the bathroom. She pounded on the door and EVENTUALLY woke her brother up. He came and got us. But if she'd been an only child, we'd never have heard her. The only way to get her out was to take the pin out of the hinges which were fortunately on the outside of the door. and the moral of reno's story is that you should NEVER walk away from a project if it's in a non-functional stage.

Lovely! I like the classic white tile and porcelain and how you used furniture pieces in the bathroom. I love that the storage at the end of the tub has pull-outs that can be reached from the toilet. Your custom sink and backsplash and counter are unique and beautiful. Yours may be the first bathroom sink I have seen in which a small or medium dog could be washed! That is a good thing! I showed your pictures to my DH because I am thinking of classic tiled walls with a chair rail for when we redo our bath in a couple of years. He liked it! I was expecting him to say, "too old fashioned." He did not, he said it looked nice. From him, nice is a compliment. He even liked your rows of listello. I was just at the Tile Shop's site the other day looking at the Hampton tiles because someone was selling some on Craigslist. I am hoping to do as you did and get what I can cheaper there, and fill in the rest from the store. I can see that you worked very hard to secure all of your materials - and then cut the floor tiles to size and culled the Hampton tiles, too! You succeeded very well in getting the look you wanted while saving money along the way. Congratulations, and thank you for the pictures and great detail and supply list.

Mine is not quite finished (one of those things the new carpenter is going to finish in the next couple of weeks) but, unlike budge's mine slides on the floor (because of that cute foot on budge's she does not really have toe kicks). Our drawer in it now is the final drawer which came from the factory. The temporary drawer is what needs to be made...it will be the same size, and the toe trim on front goes on the face of it, but it will be heavy plywood so that it can hold weight, flipped upside down and then put on the normal hinges (which hold 100lbs). But now that I've seen budge's...I may have him make me the tray top instead, which I love because we'll lose the drawer function as long as he needs the stool. Ok that was such a bad explaination that I'll take pictures tonight for you. The hefty construction of the drawer box is one issue, but you're going to have to research the glides a bit. Even though ours slides out on the floor, the glides are basically what hold it to the box to work. Basic blume full extention, but I believe the weight limit is 100lbs. Even if you're a scrawney thing...I'd want a pull out stool in an adult area to hold at least 200lbs because you never know who's going to pull it out and step on it. Budge's is fabulous :o) mine's only adding about 4" for the little guy...but it's better than none I guess! I'll photograph the basic set up tonight after the blinds people leave (I'm finally getting shades, and they are also busy hanging my art at the same time LOL)

I like both of the leds that ci-lantro posted. We have one horizontal one over a 24" vanity in the standard 5' x 7' guest bathroom, with 10' ceilings, and it lights up the room more than adequately. Yes, there are additional high hats over the tub/shower, but unless someone is using the tub/shower, those lights are never turned on. Edit: PS - I love that tile and yes, fixtures should have square edges, not round.
