Had to go to the hospital yesterday afternoon
Comments (5)Well to the 3 Linda's in my message I mentioned DH came home once he heard the message from me that I was having contractions. He drove 532 miles total yesterday. He got the message as they were eating lunch so he drove 265 miles for lunch and then came home. I felt so guilty that he was missing his trip with his brother but so thankful that he came home. I just got home again from the hospital a half an hour ago. I had been in contact with the Dr. all day because of severe tension headaches. Well they turned into a full blown migraine on the left side of my head, my vision turned blurry, bright sunlight was hurting my eyes and I felt nautious. I went into the clinic and Dr checked me out my blood pressure was 120/80 so wasn't the cause of the headache. Decided that since the tylenol 3 with codeine wasn't helping ( I am on that for yesterdays contractions) I needed a shot and they wanted me to have blood tests to see if there was anything wrong pregnancy wise. So DH left to take the girls to my sisters and bring Hayden home. He is a little monkey and is easy to take care of and entertains himself so will take it easy while they are gone and tomorrow until we have to go and get the girls. Stacie girlsingardens Bessiedawg, With all your troubles thank you for your prayers and concerns, you and your DH are in our prayers as well....See MoreI was in the hospital because of my silly gallbladder!
Comments (18)I am sorry to hear you were in the hospital. I haven't had a gall bladder attack yet but I have heard they are painful. My Mom could never explain to me what was wrong with her other than to say she felt funny now and then. I took her to the Doctor and it turned out she had 6 gallstones. They can be dangerous if they move into the ducts and cause a blockage. My Mom had her gallbladder out by laproscopy and she was fine after with no problems. I have a friend who had his removed and he can't eat pork of any kind. Goes right through him. LOL Hope you don't have any more attacks before you get your gallbladder removed. Comments (11)Thank you for your replies. Here's the scoop. I was working full time & went out on short term disability on 1/27/16. On 8/1/16 my short term disability ran out & I went on long term disability thru my employer. On 8/1/16 my employer fired me & said they can't hold my job anymore. BUT I still keep my long term disability. The long term disability company has a 3rd party vendor to assist in getting social security disability filed & approved as once social security disability starts paying that will save the long term disability company money. So this 3rd party company has an 85% success rate getting people on social security disability the first time because no mistakes are made & they also have attorneys on hand if necessary. My current status is on long term disability waiting for social security disability to approve me. But it's still a fixed income & I can show the hospital my approval letters if necessary. I'm not on Medicaid. My disability check is $20 more than their maximum allowance so I don't qualify. Fortunately I have COBRA insurance. But here's the blessing in disguise. For the first year on COBRA my employer is still paying their percentage & I pay the same as if I was an employee which is $60 a month. That price only lasts for a year and then the COBRA goes to $599 a month. I've looked at the Obama coverage and the premium for a good plan I need is $700 a month. So I'll have worries next year. But for now I'm enjoying my discounted 12 months of COBRA....See MoreEscaped Hospital With Minor Injuries
Comments (46)Chisue - You have my complete sympathy and I'm thankful that you didn't suffer any more damage. There's no excuse for leaving you alone. And if they told you to apply pressure to the puncture site and then left, then they are doubly at fault. Under those circumstances someone should have been there applying the pressure for you. DH had a biopsy and had excessive bleeding (blood thinners will do that to you) and his physician stood next to him for 30 minutes applying pressure. Obviously his situation was more severe than yours but the point is they should not have left you. I'll add my opinion to all the others here - ask questions ahead of time and make sure they understand your wishes. I don't know why they want to give sedation. You don't need it for this procedure, the locals should suffice and you've already shown them that you are capable of lying still. Most of the bone marrow harvests I'm aware of have been performed under local. The few patients that had sedation were individuals who had a morbid fear of needles and the physician felt that they wouldn't be able to keep still. Can you call your oncologist and discuss this?...See More- 3 months ago
