Blank wall behind desk 9’5 W X 10 H

I would like to place a picture for a man but have no idea what size it should be. Should it be canvas no frame or framed? Suggestions are appreciated and if you have a picture in mind please share! The walls will be painted SW poolhouse. Furniture is espresso and cream cassings and trim are white.

You want to fill 2/3rds to 3/4s of the space over the credenza (approx. to the bottom of the window on the perpendicular wall). Your choice whether to use one large piece, or two or more. Or shelves instead.

Interesting, I am grappling with similar question. I have a TV mounted (which I definitely prefer--looks more custom and finished in my opinion). We have a cabinet underneath that is only the width of the TV. Next to that, on either side, I have little ottomans (stools). It just looks too bare. I am thinking of either getting a longer cabinet so I can add lamps on it or putting big framed photos on either side. I will say, my wall is way smaller than yours. I think you might want to consider a larger cabinet or two chairs on either side of the one you are getting. As I indicated, I really like the look of a mounted TV better, but if you have the option of doing it later, you could wait and live with it for a while. How tall are your ceilings? If they are 9 feet, you will have a lot of space above the TV too. I think it will look empty, but you can move in and find out. I look forward to seeing what you do. I kind of bought a cheap, small cabinet just to get something. Now I regret it since it doesn't look finished and it is harder for me to convince my family we need something different.

The 8’ ceiling is closer to the step up into the kitchen while the 6’ ceiling is closer to the windows. The step is is large (I have no idea why, precious owner did a lot of things I don’t understand. I’ll be removing the step and streamlining it. There is a current opening for a kitchen table but is very cramped and barely first a 4 person table. So instead I’m extending the currently very small kitchen to where the makeshift desk/computer is. I’m adding a wet bar, cabinetry for wine glasses, entertaining glasses, wine fridge and a nook for two barstools to sit and overlook into TV room. Lots of projects! The door to the right of the step is never used (another one of the quirks of the house). The door with the window leads to backyard. The TV will be apx 60”. Ideally I’d like this room to fit 4 people daily, up to ~10 when entertaining. The home does have another formal room (discusses in a previous post) that has an eclectic/MCM vibe. I agree, Patricia, MCM would work well. Bev/Sabrina I like your suggestions, just don’t know how to turn the sloped wall into a focal point for TV. Do I add a low shelf for it to sit on? A mantle? I don't know anything about "Gert" construction, but in normal homes the wiring is inside the stud cavities, stapled to the studs or (if added after construction) fished through. If there is space behind your wall surface, that's where your wiring will run. If not, it will have to be installed on the exposed surfaces of the walls. In that case it should have mechanical protection. Wiremold is one well established system for surface wiring. Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but from what you've posted, it seems that you're building an office larger than some apartments, you're installing an 11+ KW PV system, you already have an EV (presumably a Tesla), and you're talking about buying a Tesla Cybertruck. None of this comes cheaply. It's just a bit surprising to hear of a person who obviously has ample financial resources worrying about saving a few thousand dollars on the wiring for a new building. An experienced professional licensed electrician will know good ways to wire your office. I suggest that you let him do the job. In your place, I probably wouldn't mess with the trenching, either.

Is this man your husband or a client? I really usually dislike gallery walls and for most men they are a bit fussy too. Why not ask him what he would like to look at . I like a desk looking out a window not a wall. Show a pic of the whole room . Post that here in a comment DO NOT start another post. For me one large piece of art ideally that can mimic seeing out a window . But the person using the sapce drives the choices not a bunch of starngers with no info.

A paper tapestry from Anthro could work, they’re quite large (in the 58” x 80” neighborhood) and inexpensive

Maybe try looking at local artists in your area to pick up some art that you like. You could do framed or you could even look at wallpapering the entire space. Below are some images from home offices we have done for clients which might help more:

What does he do for a living? Will he be working from home here? Maybe something relating to that. Or if he is a collector of something, display them on shelves.

It looks like this wall is behind the desk chair - will this person be working remotely/on camera for meetings? If so, you want to pick a backdrop that isn't super reflective or busy (even if he/she will be using a virtual background - cluttered items can cause issues with the virtual background).
