Need help filling a spot in my IKEA kitchen
Comments (8)Everyone's kitchen has some sort of balance between form/function, and only you can determine what is acceptable. For me, that would have been a no-go. I'm intrigued by schnoodlemom's off-center curtain suggestion. It would make the window appear wider, and therefore be centered between the two cabinets. However, that would make the sink appear off-center, which would be a whole other issue for me. ;) Do you know if your Ikea allows you to maintain the discount? At my store, I got the 20% off until the next kitchen sale started, which was a couple of months later. I was able to change my mind on a few things, return/exchange as needed, and still get 20% off. I know others on Ikeafans mentioned that they got it for one return visit, or not at all, but it might be worth checking out....See Morefilling an open space, review my great room / kitchen layout!!
Comments (7)you really need to post the whole first floor layout and elevations to see window placement, overhangs etc. Also which direction is north and what climate are you in? Most folks here will not comment on isolated parts of a house because a house has to work as a whole and all parts need to be in relation to one another. While the layout looks fine as is if you only have windows on the ends it will make for a very dark home...See MoreHelp filling awkward empty space!
Comments (5)I tend to agree. Open space is not only good too, but absolutely necessary sometimes. Try the pic above your sofa to the left of the door to the kitchen, if it fits. It will give that area a focal point. And then get a bigger pic for above the sofa and hang it lower....See MoreLayout help for my kitchen/dining/living space! :)
Comments (1)I would not give up living space for another bedroom down stairs. Converting the rec room to a bedroom is a better way to create a 3-bedroom house IMO, but there would be the issue of a bath for the converted bedroom....See MoreK B
