Frameless Glass Shower Door Swing Dilemma - Please Look and Help
Comments (38)with 3 young boys I really wanted a urinal in my house, space doesn't allow it and my husband thinks it's a terrible idea. When I dream about installing one I think of all the clean up it would save. Though my boys are being trained to clean up after themselves - I think my 89 yr old is pretty good at it but my 5 yr old and training 2 yr old are not nearly as efficient as necessary. I am one woman who thinks it's a great idea! Rachel...See MoreHelp I have W/DAD! Can't decide.
Comments (9)>>If it would keep the door from hitting I would go with a stacked set moved to the left and just cut the shelves. I had rather have less shelving and better access into the house, but then that is just me. The door opens out so it wouldn't hit but it would severy limit my access through that door, especially when carrying things from the car. If I stack I have 35 inches to the door that goes into the main hallway of the unit (with that door open). The frigidairs (or friGEmores) seems to be the shallowest at about 28.5 in for the dryer. So I "could" put in something deeper depending on how much space I need to leave behind it for clearance. I thought about a Samsung, but they're expensive and look HUGE to me. I drew a diagram of the room, but haven't figured out how to upload it here yet....See MoreHelp...it looks like I can't take out the whole soffit! (Pics)
Comments (14)Beck, I think the fridge wall looks fine and you can hide the soffit or not as you please, no matter what you do on the other wall. In fact, I think the whole thing will look fine. I like your small cabinets up on the range wall. If you can really make them line up with the bottom of the soffit, it seems to me that the best thing to do is to do false doors on the soffit, especially if you can take it out over the sink. If the cabinets have visible frames, put them on too, so that it really looks like the same top level cabinets. You could also just paint the soffits to match the cabinets. I wouldn't do the angle/window wall soffit in wall color, because that will emphasize the step down. Either way, you could do something different on the fridge wall pretty easily. I'm a fan of clean lines, so I don't want to gunk it up, but another thing you could do is an angled lattice that matches the beading on the stiles and rails, on the soffits. Or hang a light sculpture. Or clad them with stainless to match the appliances. I mean, there are all kinds of things you could do, but the best way to carry your design all the way around, I think, is to run the cupboards up. I have a weird soffit with pipes in my current laundry and pantry. It's just going to get enclosed in the new cupboards and go away. :)...See MoreHelp! I just can't decide, Long w/lots of pics
Comments (28)I've been going back and forth on your post for awhile now just looking and thinking. I have oak cabinets too and we changed out the hardware to ORB. I love it. I hear your pain on painting the cabinets! DH is the same way but has always been fine w/ me painting our cabinets. We've just never gotten around to it though. Leaving the cabinets as is until you cajole your DH into painting I think that white is a good decision for table and chairs. But Let me toss this idea out to you: Should you eventually paint your cabinets would you consider painting your table base in a pale shade of grey/ blue? I suggest this just because I think that those curtains need something a little 'weighty' in the kitchen w/ the addition of the brown sectional being in the other room. Or maybe not. I forgot that you were painting the wals green and I don't feel like erasing everything that I just typed!...See MoreNN Swaby
