Yes, you probably should know that it won't tarnish to a lovely even dull patina. My range handles had speckles on them where god knows what from the pot hit them. The faucet had splotches. That said, I loved them. But having true living brass in your kitchen is probably harder than dealing with marble etching :-) Funny thing, for all the bellyaching about brass that still goes on - the young woman who bought my house *loved* that brass faucet. It's nothing like the horrid 80's brass, for sure.

Thanks, nalcar. Good to know it has a nice locking into place mechanism. I think I misspoke when I asked about 360...I can't imagine I really need that. Maybe more like 180 and when I say that I realize that it would really be a cheap kitchen faucet that doesn't do that so I think I was creating an issue where there was none. Refreshed this morning, I feel less concerned with the questions 2 and 3 but still want to make sure the ORB is not a living finish. Between DH, DS and DCL (cleaning lady), and even my own at-times-less-than-fully-focused brain, I don't trust us not to wear the living finish right down to plain brass in no time. The store I've been talking with seems quite competent and has a good reputation; I was just concerned when I got on line and saw that the Newport sites list a Group called Powder Finish and the ORB is not included.... Maybe I should just call the company today. Thanks again!

@Liz Patrick Love your kitchen and thanks for showing the differences in detail. On a time crunch with our kids’ bath and trying to decide if i can mix Kingston Brushed Brass faucets (which will go better with our lighting) and Delta Champagne Bronze fixtures in the shower which will be behind a shower curtain. In the pic of your kitchen faucet and disposal button, you called the Delta finish Champagne Gold but you meant Champagne Bronze right? Thanks for your help! Anyone else use Kingston brushed brass with Kohler shower components in Vibrant Brushed Moderne Brass? Im wondering which one is a closer match, Kohler or Delta? I need something thats in stock and ready to ship so i cant wait for Brizo or California Faucets. Im also thinking of mixing the Kingston brushed brass fixtures in the vanity area with their polished brass in the shower behind the shower curtain. They dont have all the shower components we need in the brushed brass in stock. Would love anyone’s feedback..we decided to tack this on to a much more extensive reno and i dont have the luxury of going to showrooms to look for this part of the reno.

Beckysharp- can you please tel me how you trust the Starcraft Builders website? There are just so many spelling errors, how can this be a reputable source? Jill, I'm an editor, researcher, and former reporter and particularly sensitive to typos and spelling mistakes. But I'm willing to give a company and website like Starcraft Builders a pass for the very important reasons that 1) there is so much information on their website, and 2) their business and expertise don't involve writing and editing. For the same reason, I generally don't point out typos, and grammar and spelling errors in Houzz posts unless the company name has an error (like Barber Wilson or Barber Wilson's instead of Barber Wilsons) since being able to find out more about a product is paramount, because I know most people post in a hurry and/or from their phones and, unlike me, aren't professional writers or editors or don't have a copy editor on standby. I've been on Houzz/GardenWeb for the past 10 years, and many of the posters here who I trust and respect share opinions and thoughts about much on the Starcraft Builders website, from faucet and toilet reviews to pantry planning advice. I've also been married to a builder/contractor for more than 25 years, so I know Starcraft know well the building aspect very well. Creative a comprehensive website like the Starcraft Builders one would be quite the effort for anyone in a different line of work without also updating and maintaining it for years; I'd much rather have whatever Starcraft staff member responsible for the website use his or her time to keep the site and reviews updated than to check for typos. It's clearly a labor of love from which many homeowners have benefitted for their new construction, remodeling, and renovation projects. My original reply was specific to Newport Brass and I don't know Jen or mumkin, and I'm not overly familiar with Barber Wilsons, in great part because my heart belongs to Moen and their fabulous lifetime no-questions-asked warranty. I looked up Barber Wilsons and the Starcraft entry for them, and since their product is not made in China, it may be a question of not bothering to submit their products to US and Canadian authorities for testing because they may be resting on their considerable, BRF-approved laurels; for some, especially a British company established in 1905, a royal warrant likely eclipses, as far as the company is concerned, US and Canadian government certification. Starcraft reviews, and Houzz/Gardenweb posts, should be just part of a homeowner's due diligence. You could/should also try to find out more about the lack of certification, for example by writing to inquire about it.
