Need help selecting rug for Entryway
Comments (22)Have you tried it angled from the front door toward the French doors, sort of leading one toward the hallway? Actually, I like the area without your console table, which I find a bit too chunky and contemporary beside the more delicate traditional stair newel and railing. Why not angle the rug and add a mirror centered 5' above the floor, with an armchair and floor lamp in that stair corner staged more as a reading nook?...See MoreNeed help choosing entry way rug that blends with living/dining.
Comments (27)I would suggest you use a rug that covers more of the foyer area...perhaps a tufted wool with and oriental pattern that sort of fits with architecture of your home...a smallish pattern with varied colors will hold up to entry traffic better than a solid...and at the same time a small runner can be purchased in the same color and pattern...I am not sure it needs to match the other rugs ...as the foyer seems big enough to be considered a separate room...with out pictures it is hard to be sure....but the foyer is the introduction to your home and sets the expectations for the rest of the house...See MoreHELP! Comments (14)Thanks everyone 😊 I really appreciate your feedback! I moved my current rug and added some photos. How’s this? (Please excuse my little photobomber 😂) I love Turkish/oushak style rugs like this one but I think I want to get a different one with different colors (not a fan of the orange in my current rug for some reason). That being said, how is the size of my current rug - should I look for longer or wider? Do y’all think it looks odd leading into living room since it doesn’t align with doorway/doorframe? Thanks!!...See MoreHelp me pick an Entry Rug
Comments (17)I’d worry about a solid light coloured rug in an entryway and maybe consider a black and white striped rug, which would tie in with the black iron on your staircase and hall table. You could add a black/brass fixture to coordinate with mirror also and your entrance would be really cute and welcoming. I have tried to find different rugs in either of the two sizes you referenced, but had no luck. Indoor/outdoor rug from McGee and Co below comes 5x8 size and wondering if it would fit - larger would be nicer if it did. https://www.mcgeeandco.com/products/birmingham...See Morelharpie
