The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Comments (14)Lori - That's a shame about your Memphis not scaping. At least I get some blooms from mine. The flowers are large and gorgeous, and a bud count of 10-12 is actually pretty good for a pink in my garden this season. I'm going to try dividing Crazy Ivan and planting it in two places to see if I can get it to thrive again. For a couple of years it was one of my best clumps. Kay - Shelby is only a couple of inches shorter than it should be. Last year it was about 6 inches taller than normal. Neon Flamingo was a new one this spring that I got from another Tennessee garden. The plant was very healthy with an excellent root system. Although I didn't expect it to be full height, I did expect it would deliver more than a 14-inch scape. Debra...See MoreThe good the bad and the ugly
Comments (49)The link or pic didn’t come through, but that’s ok because I think ‘Heavenly Tiara’ is the clear winner! Not sure what the prize is........maybe I should mail order a new HT for you? However since the Tiaras are so prone to slug issues maybe you would choose something else! lol. All of your goods were really good! Love that chorus Girl!!...See MoreTime for “the good, the bad and the ugly.”
Comments (26)The Good: This is a self-named streaker that I obtained from a friend. This one has Alligator Alley in it's lineage, and some OP. Been a solid performer and is holding up really well. Beyond Glory is new for me this year, looking great still in September Vulcan is looking great! Another favorite this year, The King, a nice division from a friend's display gardens Paisley Print holds up great Hans was a beautiful nursery plant purchased this year and looks amazing Foxfire Palm Sunday The Bad: Not a lot of bad ones here, but Night Before Christmas is pretty nasty looking The Ugly (I am classifying ones here that I think are really going to pop next year, but are having some first year struggles): My Gunther's Prize has limped through its first year, but survived bare root shipping, and a crazy squirrel population digging around and through it. Lots of hen manure seems to have abated the squirrel cartel. Another one that is going to be great (fingers crossed) is the self named Targaryen ((Mother of Dragons x OP) x OP)) x OP...See MoreBona craft oil + traffic hd - the good, the bad, and the ugly?!
Comments (4)The Good: Bona craft oil will give you more design ideas as far as color combinations. You can layer colors or mix it for more custimization. Craft oil is zero VOC compared to traditonal stains which is 250 VOC. If, you want a ceruse look. This is the type of finish to use. The Bad: Craft oil cost much much more for material and labor. Not all products will be in-stock. Sampling can cost quite a bit of money. Craft oil is just more of a expensive way to stain your floor. The Ugly: Typical finish, If, the floor cannot be prepped properly this finish will not look and feel good. Water popping is a must for sufficient oil penetration....See More- 11 months ago
