Help With Fireplace Wall and Paint (Pics)
Comments (29)Beautiful home. Love the big windows, the fireplace, and the antique dresser. I wanted RH Flax for my dining room redo, but it did look very dark in my room. Also, it was a good contrast for my armoire and dining set, but not so great for the old very dark sideboard on the opposite wall. If I had had a bigger room, I would have tried it. You do need a good contrast color for the fireplace stone and if you are working with a mix of RH Cappuchino, Flax, and Antique White, I think you just might have it. The first photo Squirrel posted was my favorite, and on this monitor (not my regular computer) it looked like a dull green. Only go for green if you really want it though. I think the brown combo is going to be wonderful. Flax is pretty deep, but in a well-lighted room, it would be lovely. Red...See MoreHelp with this fireplace/wall situation.
Comments (0)My husband and i bought this home almost 9 months ago and so far this is all I have and I'm not liking it.. I have no clue on how to decorate, I don't even know what style I'm into. I like a lot of blacks, whites & greys. I have heard of Rustic , shabby chic , modern and industrial (im sure theres plenty more) thanks to Pinterest and YouTube but I'm not sure I fit into any of those categories. I would greatly appreciate any ideas or even DIYs (easy one, not to great with projects) I have a friend who told me she uses this app all the time and it's very helpful....See MoreNeed help with fireplace wall - difficult asymmetrical configuration!
Comments (7)if you want to spend more money, you could have a symmetrical bookcase type wall unit built on both sides of the fireplace, maybe with a bridge over it, that would completely block out the window on the left. Leave a large space for a mirror above the fireplace. if you went this route I'd do it in a color to match the wall or similar light color. It looks like you have other windows off to the right side. You might have to add a little more lighting at that end of the room to make up for lost of the window. A cheaper solution would be to put drapery completely covering the window on the left and a matching one on the right side of the fireplace just covering the wall but the whole thing in a symmetrical arrangement. you could have the drapery rods at the same level as that uncased opening on the right....See MoreHelp with fireplace wall!
