help me decorate my new bathroom

last year

Our small hallway bathroom was just finished. I like it a lot, but it needs art, towels, something. It’s hard to take photos because it’s very small and dark. But the vanity is walnut with black cabinet pulls, black light fixture, and gold accents (faucets/shower head, towel bar etc.)

Would you consider matching up one of the taupe tiles from the floor for the walls?

I love whites, but sometimes it doesn't finish a space. It almost feels like a primer.

This happened to me in a recent renovation.

My monitor might not be interpreting the colors of your floor, but you get the idea.

I wanted to keep the walls white but it felt unfinished. I know it's different than yours

because you have a dark vanity.

OH! THANK YOU! I am so loving ALL your ideas and suggestions, and believe me, I am seriously considering each and every one of them! OK... so I cut out some sheets of paper the sizes of the pictures we have been considering. The 4 pieces of paper on the long wall represent the four 13.5" Sturbridge ("4 Seasons") prints. I think they fill the wall nicely! The 2 pieces of paper above the toilet represent the two 8" x 10" Warren Kible prints (the cat and the pig). (Boo seems to approve!!!) THEN, I'll change out the toilet seat (probably a plain white one... or maybe black???), and maybe replace the magazine holder with something like this... ... and call it *DONE*!!! So, what do you guys think?! And remember, you can be BRUTALLY honest!!! Really! ;o)

Also, I don't know that I'll have the right space for this painting, but I'd love to use it in the master bath if I can make it work. I thought about over the tub on the wall to the left, but the placement of the towel bar there may make it awkward. I found this in an antique shop in Suffolk, England. The tag indicated it to be a print and I paid the equivalent of $45 for it, but when I removed it from its awful original frame, I realized it is an original painting. It's a scene from St. Ives in Cornwall and is very special to me. Forgive the glaring reflection from the glass.

how one approaches this sensitive subject of commission, that'd be nice to know..)) (Anthropologie. everybody knew without me. Everything But The House-they were real young when I discovered them..just starting..yet promising..I blubbered everywhere...now look what happens, I'm even afraid to bid lol..) ah. my duty to tell you. look attentively at the pics. there's veeeeery pale rose colored line. and veeeeery pale blue colored line. they don't interfere with the look at all. you can hardly see these. they dissappear in the general white-ness. and I use these towels in two totally different bathrooms, color wise, and they work in both. but couple reviewers were dissappointed. so have to tell you. truth, whole truth, and nothing but the truth(c)

I envision a British West Indies feel to compliment its style - light bamboo blinds to match door, white or soft blue towels, plant and candles on bathtub ledge Given the corner niche make up area, suggest mirrors running from end to end. You could even frame in and stain to match cabinetry. I would use a dark rattan chair to compliment counters. - if interested in BWI look.

@eld6161 yes I think you’re right - I picked a warm white but something different may have been better. At this point, though, I’m not going to repaint. The bath/shower has doors so no shower curtain. I’m looking for decor/art suggestions maybe?

Okay.

Personally, I don't like the towel bar there. For guests, a double hook to hang towels outside the bathtub is fine.

Doesn't the shower doors have a rod? Most do.

I would remove the rod and that is where I would put art.

Art to the left of the rod now would look odd to me.

Here's another one of my bathrooms. Rod on door and hook outside door.

You still need accessories A toothbrush holder and glass. Looks like enough room on the vanity for a paper hand towel holder.

What exactly are the colors in the floor? You still need towels.

Let's say the floor has taupe, you can bring in a twel with tapes and greens.

Personally, I don't like the “pop” of color. If I introduce another color, it needs to be along with the basic color. So a towels with those colors, not a solid green.
