Overwhelmed. Can someone suggest siding/trim colors for my brick?

Update:: See new image. My brick looks beige/tan in some light and peachy in other light. I got a paint sample for SW accessible beige and it looked white when I painted a test on my house. SW agreeable gray paint sample looked blue. I want to get away from the current yellow paint and into the greige or beige family. I made 3 trips to the SW store today and now had to reschedule the painter because of this weird brick. (Can't afford to paint the brick too) Please help!Update- see new image

I think the OP means "Can someone suggest colours to go with my brick" since there is mention that the brick will not be painted, and there is a reference to getting away from the current yellow colour.

This post is confusing. The title says Can Someone Suggest Colors for my Brick? But your last sentence says “Can’t afford to paint the brick too.”

I think I would like to split up the wall creating a top border at least 18" left as is. Then I'd like a reddish warmer color to the lower portion of the wall of bricks. (usual standard red brick color). I think it needs to be broken up with contrast colors. It will ground the home and bring some life to the neutrals. This will break up the height covering so much of the lower half of the home. Or..maybe BETTER yet.... .. remove 12" H in rows of brick, off the top and replace with a 'deeper depth' wood facing (compared to brick depth) .... to create a band of color above the lower brick. Maybe match the wood facing with the vinyl beige or a contrast color for the wood trim added ..... to create a larger space above the brick. Lower brick in a natural red brick color. The windows will not feel so cramped above the brick top edge if you match the beige vinyl color.. I think it will fool the eye. This will give you a needed dimension to a rather flat facade of the home. Adds some architecture and a visual interest.

I am leaning for navy on the shutters. I have been riding around my town, (with just me and my kids), and it seems most people have black shutters. I like the one above with the off setting blue gray shutters. You rock by the way!!!

similar colored brick homes. first one is Kendall Charcoal paint color. I like this color better than the taupe-gray you have on the gable try doing an address plaque here: or something more visible like this. (on that brick portion next to garage. try some diff lighting as well

I have a south-facing house, colonial style, with a cedar shingle roof. I am painting the exterior BM Newburyport Blue (classic navy). Not sure if I should go bright white for the trim, or something slightly creamier. I get overwhelmed with white choices. My house is on a lake, if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance.

Correct-I should have stated it better. I am looking for accent color and main color for wood siding to go with current brick color. My apologies.

Maybe some of the suggestions in these sites will work. I did a google search for "Blonde Brick paint". For example, this site had some beiges that I think are closer to what you want e.g. Chatura Gray.

Instead of bringing home chips, can you bring home a whole fan deck so you are not going back and forth?

I like your brick and hope you find something that makes it sing!

@jj romeo WIW! You are so right! Your house really changes color in the light! I thought you used a filter or something! I can see several options with your brick. I really like it! One option is a creamy white. Another would be a blue grey to complement the yellow orange tones and greys in both lights. Another might be a sage green for an analogous color scheme. Personally I like creamy white. Not yellow cream, but a cocoa whip cream. But it's your house. You should go to the Sherwin Williams web site where you can post pictures of your house (use both lights you are showing us) and try on these different options to see which appeals to you for a body color. Post back again with one to three you like best and then ask about trim and door colors. Remember that if you aren't willing to spend the money to have colored windows, you are better off to choose other colors that will look good with white windows. That's another reason I like the cream body color for your brick.

Maybe check out SW Oyster White and White Duck if leaning toward going lighter. Really like Beverly's dark rendition above should you want to go a bolder route.

Something I learned to do since paint color can be deceiving - hold a sample that is blue to you against what you know is blue. You may or may not see a true blue. Maybe a hint of green, or whatever. The cool and warm sun throughout tge day wont change.

If you can obtain a siding sample that you like, take it to the paint store.

My biggest issue is you posted three different pictures and the brick looks like three completely different colors on my monitors.

Exactly. It is an odd colored variegated brick that changes color appearance to me depending on lighting, It normally appears as it's true color (closeup & garage pictures #1 & # 3), but very different in direct sunlight (very yellowish) as in pic #2.

Not confusing - OA says trim and siding- Brick looks neutral enough for a great array of paint colors. I like the darker tones in the mock up good start!

A close up of the brick would be great. This usually is my fave with brick and please remove the shutters they do not belong on most of the windows and the rest are way too small/

Agree that house would look better without shutters. Since you'll have to remove them anyway, see how you like a shutter-less house.

Here's sage in a taupe direction:

Not sure about this one since it does have some gold. Maybe a "taupe-ier" shade of this? Look at the color of the stone steps and walkway--very harmonious with the brick but in a gray/taupe direction.

The house in this photo has two interesting taupes with their brick though it's not yellow brick--garage door and window trim and darker taupe for siding. I'm glad you're not painting the brick.
