Trim and Window color for brick house exterior
Comments (1)I think it could go either way, just depends on what you choose first, windows or trim color. I like it now, but a warm taupe trim color would look good too. Maybe try changing the wondows first and then re-evaluating....See MorePaint and window trim colors with white vinyl windows.
Comments (5)Are you referring to trim around the windows? Do you still have original wide solid wood trim? Just match the white of the vinyl - if you can take a sash to the paint shop that will help them get you as close a match as possible. Whites are all maddeningly different - hard for us to recommend anything. Keeping trim same as window sash helps the new vinyl blend in and be less noticeable... Then get a slightly darker, richer white for the walls (if that's what you want)...See MoreOverwhelmed. Can someone suggest siding/trim colors for my brick?
Comments (15)@jj romeo WIW! You are so right! Your house really changes color in the light! I thought you used a filter or something! I can see several options with your brick. I really like it! One option is a creamy white. Another would be a blue grey to complement the yellow orange tones and greys in both lights. Another might be a sage green for an analogous color scheme. Personally I like creamy white. Not yellow cream, but a cocoa whip cream. But it's your house. You should go to the Sherwin Williams web site where you can post pictures of your house (use both lights you are showing us) and try on these different options to see which appeals to you for a body color. Post back again with one to three you like best and then ask about trim and door colors. Remember that if you aren't willing to spend the money to have colored windows, you are better off to choose other colors that will look good with white windows. That's another reason I like the cream body color for your brick....See MoreBACK exterior color help! Brown gutters/soffits, white window trim?
Comments (6)Since you have to work with what you've got, I think the color you've chosen in the mockup works well. As the comments above mention you do want this color to coordinate with the brick and tie it all together by keeping the gutters/soffits/fascia all the way around. You also asked about trim for the windows in the back. Since the windows in the back are white, I would make the trim the same color as the siding. White windows will already stand out as it is, any decorative trim seems over the top on this. From the photos it looks like the siding currently runs to the window frame which is fine as well. As for the columns, I would match them to the deck, remove the paint from the deck and go with a stain instead. Maybe wait to see how the rest looks before deciding on a stain or paint for the columns....See More- 4 years agolast modified: 4 years ago
