Comments (12)Shutters are a no go on this house. None of the windows are appropriate for shutters. I'm in the don't paint the brick group. You take a no maintenance product and turn it into a long term maintenance issue. Some ideas: A darker color on the siding that doesn't emphasize the difference between the orange brick and the rest of the house would be a good option. A new front door that was not a Victorian leaded glass style (think Mid Century Modern MCM) would also be an upgrade. A porch over the front door would add some depth to the front façade of the house. Pulling all the landscaping (including the woody shrubs on the side of the house) and redoing it. 5) Stain the fence between the house and the garage to tie them together more. 6) Paint the garage door a color that makes it less obvious. Also get rid of the dark brown trim. Comments (27)cute house. the shutters HAVE to go. And the front door looks like a back door. switch that out w/something that fits better, in a new color, add a new light, and house numbers, and it's all but done. loosing the white and doing a black door, fits much better. if doing the side lite, then have the door match the style. this is a very bright green, but you could do red, or a blue,,,,just give you an idea on the style maybe do some natural wood railing for the porch, or do a portico, or build a little deck )ignore the shutters on this after pic)...See MoreCedar siding - paint or stain? Comments (3)I wanted to select a light stain like the shutters below, but they don't exactly work with your brick, so I selected a stain light than your current one with white trim....See MoreVinyl siding colour suggestions needed
Comments (19)I wouldn't touch the siding if it's in good shape. The color works well with the house. If you are open to suggestions, rather than put the $$ into the siding, I would do something with the deck instead. The posts look insubstantial for the deck above so beefing them up would be a possibility, and you might consider changing the railing too. Incorporating the posts into the landscaping more could also work...I planted vines on mine to make them less prominent....See MoreRelated Professionals
