I think the easiest path to loading pictures on this forum is thru Photobucket.com. After you get your picture uploaded to your Album in Photobucket, which is easy because it shows you step by step what to do, you simply place you cursor on the picture and a little menu pops up. Click on "HTML Code" and immediately a yellow box pops up that says "copied". What you have done is parked your picture on Photobucket and copied the address where it *lives*. You can then open a "Message" window here on this forum and PASTE in the HTML Code which is the address where your picture now *lives*. Becareful not to delete any brackets or details from the HTML Code. Leave a couple returns (lnes or spaces) above and below the HTML Code. You can type your "Message" above or below the code. Congratulations on new home, it is a very nice looking house. The trim is all fine the way it is. On that style of house, it is better to leave the trim blend into the siding, just like it is now.. The door, well, that definitely needs to be painted. If it were my house, the door would be a darker shade of teal. Your house definitely needs some landscaping. The lattice showing doesnt look great, but, plantings will take care of that problem.

Barncatz, I didn't know what we were doing with the windows when I was sampling colors, so unfortunately no. I think I need to coordinate the trim with the windows. I'm going to order some colors from Samplize and look into finding a designer. Westhightland pulls too much yellow next to the window white sample. Even so, you were so right to pick it for your house, so you didn't end up with the primer-y look! D Bee, working with a designer is a very good idea. I've had so-so experiences with designers before, so I don't currently have one that I trust. I'll look into finding a designer. I agree that could really help me avoid some mistakes. Thanks for your kind words. We call it a porte cochere, so basically a car park, but it's actually too tight a fit for modern cars to use on daily basis- lol! I still like it. Thank you both!

Just a quick update to say I chose paint colors! I went with Miller Paints (only in the PNW). A for the body of the house, B for the main trim, C for the mullions. Also took an updated photo of my house to share for those of you who commented on the vines on the trellises on my house. (Still lots more vegetation to get under control before painting, but it is a constant process!) I'll share an update when the painting is completed, but it will be awhile. I work more than full time, have lots of weekend getaways planned for the summer, and the prep work is going to be incredibly time-intensive (but important)! Just need to get it all painted before the rain starts in the fall. Thank you all for sharing your suggestions and opinions! (Please excuse the hose, garden watering was underway!)
