Comments (11)No, I didn't forget, but it doesn't really compare. Gold isn't brass. Gold reflects mightily in low light and glows in a way that brass can only stand in the corner and envy. Purple was reserved for royalty, not because it looked good with the other colors, but because it was very rare and very expensive. The point is that there are exceptions to every rule and contravention for every blanket statement. There's also the rule that 2 reds might clash but 20 reds don't, which often works, but when it fails it's really really bad... Look at the things together. Look at them together with different lights. Choose what you like. If you're colorblind you might make choices that don't make sense to others who can't see what you see, but if it's for yourself, go for it. If you like aubergine and brass, please don't let me stop you! (Anyway, it's meh, not shudder-worthy.)...See MoreWould like advice on paint color for Mediterranean style home.
Comments (2)Your home has very traditional windows and trim so it will be your furniture and décor that will need to give that Mediterranean feel. I would keep the trim a bright white and pick a very light yellow or taupe so the walls will blend in and the Mediterranean décor you add will be the star....See Morehelp! what exterior color scheme to do on my mediterranean style house
Comments (16)@Beverly i will post more pictures later that are close up and a little clearer. the bones of the house have a french-mediterranean vibe more than any other style i have seen. there are several arches and french-style accents that i will try to capture for you. the house (before the garage addition) looked very similar to your second pic, it had a flat roof/patio like that, but i had to take it down and rebuild that part, unfortunately. thank you for posting pics, i like the look of the last one....See MorePaint color ideas for Mediterranean style architecture
Comments (7)Updated colors vary by neighborhood. Take a walk around yours to see what is new and in style for your area. In my area, soft white is the most popular update for Mediterraneans....See MoreLori A. Sawaya
