What are your plans for the front of the fireplace? How much seating do you need for your tv viewing? Love the room so far!

Put two ottomans there in place of the chair. Put the chair and another like it by the fireplace.

Consider a rug to bring the seating pieces together. Something that compliments with the cool looking art over the fireplace.

I think if you just add a leather or faux leather lumbar on the chair, in similar color as your other chairs - it could tie the chair into the room, and make it look like it is more a member of the family. Also, such a pillow could ground the chair, so that it doesn’t look like it just floating there. You could also consider adding a table lamp, which might possibly balance it all even more; and a lamp might also be nice, in general, for ambience, etc.

Congratulations on your new home!!🎉🍾. Will you do a quick floorplan of the space? There is probably a better furniture arrangement for that nice living room that will enable you to enjoy the fireplace and watch tv too.

If you want the tv there, I would move the white chair to the fireplace, get it a partner, and create a little area there. If your open to moving the tv, I’d put it in the angled wall by the fireplace and shift everything down there.

I, too think there may be a better arrangement so please post a floor plan. For now though switch the sofa and brown chairs. Definitely need a rug and make sure it is larger enough for the front feet of all the pieces sit on it.

I also think a better configuration could be had. The fireplace is like an after thought in this set up and should he tue focal point.

I would move chair to the left side of FP, make it open, then bring a bench instead chair.

or just go without bench

It looks like you have the white chair in front of the brown chair, which is not the best way to arrange furniture.

The space could also handle a larger TV! Have you seen the Samsung Frame TV? They are slim and hang on the wall like art. You can display digital art when not watching TV so you don't have the black hole effect. This is my 75" The Frame TV ...

Curtains, rug... color. Why is the fireplace lit up? Is it double sided, indoor/outdoor? Cool if it is. Your arrangement totally ignores the the fireplace. I'd rethink it.

@jackowskib - yes, a rug for sure. that is the next phase of purchase. :)

@freedomplace1 - I like your idea of the leather lumbar and lamp. Lamps are on the list for sure, but a leather piece might help too. Thanks!

@Rachel Lee - This tv location is best after all considerations. The angled wall is a little too small to fit the tv cabinet unfortunately. And I am not a fan of TV's over the FP.

@jck910 - Had the sofa and chairs switched originally. Did not like. The chairs are recliners and used for tv watching. Sofa rarely ever used. The chairs forced you to turn your neck left constantly and just was not comfortable. So the chair locations are perfect in this configuration for me.

@Celery. Visualization, Rendering images - Thanks for the idea. I have a bench in the foyer/entrance area, so will move things around and place that to try and see how it looks.

@chispa - Agree it needs larger TV. Thats on the list. Will focus on new tv in phase 2 after happy with furniture arrangements. Thanks for the input.

@Paul F. - Have shutters finally arriving for install this week. Did plantation shutters on entire first floor. (Coastal home). The fireplace is not lit up. It is actually a two sided FP. The other side is an outdoor rear patio.

Put the odd chair in the corner by the FP with atable and a lamp IMO 3 chairs really never work well in a space . You can always pull it into the main area when needed . I do agree a nice big rug witll help anchor the rest of the seating.Yes to abigger TV and cabinet make sure the cabinet is low enough to allow the center of the screen to be at eye level when seated. .

Here are my suggestions for your room. Some items are just very 'off'.

The biggest issue is the color of your overhead lighting. It's glaring, big time. Either dim the lighting or replace the bulbs because the color is wrong for this room. Do the bulbs reall protrude from the ceiling fixtures? I cannot tell from the photo details.

I hope you can see the different in the quality of light from your room to these posted below.

Minor but I would not have selected square end tables next to the sofa. First do you even require them? Second, just too many 90 degree corners in your room IMO.

I would have used round drum tables with floor lamps. If you don't have floor outlets, you can often hide the electrical cords under sofas and rugs. I love the appearance of lamp light if I don't have company. I only turn on my overhead lights when there is a group in the home.
