When I got home from the hospital after having Rhiannon, my mom,Dh, baby and I all had symptoms of CO poisoning. In our case we called the fire department and they told us there was nothing they could do, they didnt have a detector. We called our natural Gas provider and they came right out at 10 at night and did readings all over the house and sent us to the hospital. Luckily we were all okay after staying over night in oxygen including the 3 day old baby. Stacie

Thanks for the reply. I'm sort of at a loss as how to find a "contractor who specializes in hood installation" - that would be ideal tho. Perhaps visit an appliance store that sells hoods & ask - altho I'd feel a bit guilty since I won't be buying the hood or fan there. The store I bought all my appliances from, went out of business recently... To answer your questions: 1) Yes, there is a small attic space inbetween the wood T&G ceiling and the exterior roof in which the inline fan will fit. (But not that nifty Fantech silencer, unless I put in 2 90's instead of a straight run up, not sure I want to do that). 2) Makeup Air - I'm pretty sure that's a requirement in the Seattle area. (My 2 yr old woodstove has its own source of outside air.) Hoping the installer will have a grasp on that :) I'd like to do this ourselves, but I really want this to work *right* and want a pro to do the install.

Assuming you're staying with Verizon, your best bets are either Motorola or Nokia phones. There are occasional Samsungs and LGs which get good marks for reception and call quality, but my experience with those brands and what I read about them indicates that it's hit or miss. I bought a new phone at the beginning of this year (wanted better reception than my Samsung offered and I was up for my New Every Two) and I ended up getting a Nokia. I really like it. It holds calls where the Samsung did not. I looked at the Motorolas but didn't like the menus or the displays, but that's just me. If you want a simple phone, I'd check out the Nokia 2128i (real simple); the Nokia 6236i (make sure you can deal with the little "joystick" controller before you buy one); or the Motorola V325 (look at a real display, not just the demo unit) One tip: if you go to a Verizon store and don't like what you see, go to a Circuit City (the Verizon-owned kiosks there carry some different phones) or a Best Buy (not run by Verizon, but official resellers).

Thanks krantzcool, but I'm a little confused! H.D. plumber told me to disconnect that pilot "tube" from the gas valve and press down on the pilot and if I smell or hear gas, then there's likely a problem w/ a clogged tube? If I don't smell gas, than there's likely a problem w/ the gas valve! Well, I didn't hear or smell any gas at all from that spot on the gas valve, so needless to say, when I hooked it all back up- nothing still! Purge the gas line, leak check ? I'm just a homeowner who want's heat and the "for sale" sign in front of my house in 3 weeks!! Is there anything else I can try before a tech comes on Mon...$$$ ?? Thanks!
