Please help me choose colors for siding and doors
Hello, I'm having my siding redone and have received feedback that there's too much white on my house (agree) and am wondering what color will be in keeping with the 'old world traditional' style of the neighborhood. I've seen a lot of new construction with all white and wonder if I am mistaken by changing the color? The new siding will wrap around the front eliminating the 'white column'. We will paint the garage, service door, & front door. Thanks so much!

last yearDefinately not that siding color with thta brick for sure . IMO gutters are not design elemnets and are best when they matvht he roof along the roof and the siding on the down spouts . This one of my faves for red brick and I would actully do all the trim like in the pic

Comments (2)I would post this in design dilemmas as well. When I have a hard time making a decision and there are many choices, I only choose between two at a time. Start with your siding first, A against B, A against C, C against D, etc. After I made a final siding choice, if I couldn't find a trim color that works with it, I'd eliminate that siding color and I'd start the siding process again. Comments (9)I agree the stone needs cleaning, however, the colors in the photos you just posted above, do not look good on your house. Makes house look like it is sitting on stilts. You need the darker color of the stone, so the house looks grounded, and not hanging in mid air. Your entrance needs to be lightened, so your door shows up better, and the garage door, needs to blend in with the rest of the house. The places below the upper windows really bother me a lot. . This is the first picture you have posted of the entire front of house. The browner color way at the top of the windows, doesnt look good either. It makes the house look like sections have been added on to the top of the previous section. We plan to paint the body of the house in Benjamin Moore's Sag Harbor Gray (entire body, including gables), the outside window trim in BM Gloucester (outside window trim), and leave the sashes the existing warm cream color. The porch/deck railings will also be painted that same cream color. (FYI, the fence near the front of the photo is now black so it doesn't compete visually with the rest of the craziness on the house.) Question: What color should the balcony door and entry door / side lights be painted? We especially need the entry to attract attention. It's in a really odd spot. (The garage and driveway are to the left of the house, so you have to walk all the way across the front deck and up a second flight of stairs to reach the front door.) Also, despite the fact that this elevation faces south and gets loads of sun, the front door is in shadow all day under the porch roof, so we need something bright that will pop....See More

last yearI do like the lighter version of Natual Clay. If it is not too late, maybe a better choice is Bone Linen.
I'm glad you have eliminated the shutters, which were wrong with that window.
