Do you have a friend who has a pull-down that you might be able to try? Will that sprayer stay on spray or do you have to keep the handle pressed down? I always had a side spray before but now that I have a pull-down I don't ever want to be without one! I defrosted some shrimp tonight and it was so nice to be able to pull the faucet head down close to my colander, set it to spray and walk away for a few minutes. The pull-down is nicely balanced so that it stays at whatever height I put it. It's so much more convenient to quickly pull it down and be able to reach every corner of my sink when I wash it. Mine goes back up into place very easily and securely, no twisting or fiddling with it required.

There was a Delta pull-out in our house when we bought it. It functioned fine but I disliked the awkwardness of using it. Something about the way you had to hold it to use it in certain situations bothered me. The handle was just clumsy feeling sometimes. If I wanted to turn the head or clean the sink and turn my hand, the handle got in the way of the hose, etc. When we renovated we replaced it with a Kohler Vinnata pull-down. I much prefer the pull-down. It's just a natural, more ergonomically correct way of using a faucet in my opinion. I like that you grip the whole head of the faucet with your whole hand and that's it...no handle to fiddle with also. And no, if the faucet is made correctly, they don't dangle. We've had ours for six years now. It retracts perfectly, doesn't tangle and always goes back in just fine. What Frankoma states above about a pullout, stands for a pull-down also. I can fill my coffeepot or my stockpot on the counter with my pull-down just fine. It doesn't just pull DOWN, you pull it down and out too. :)

I need to decide on kitchen faucet today. Had planned on the Hansgrohe Talic C Higharc but the Moen faucets are about half the price and plumber says parts are much easier to get for the Moen (plus all the positive on the new reflex technology here). I prefer the look of the Brantford over the Arbor, but I'm concerned the ridges and grooves are going to be harder to clean. Can you please give me your comments?

Electric my entire life. New build and went with gas. I wanted to run both gas and electric for the 'someday when induction prices come down' but dh would not have it. Gas it is! I agree with fishcow. My electric low would never be low enough and things left to just stay warm would always cook to the bottom of the pot, grrr. I was concerned with my kiddos just starting to cook and changing from electric to real live fire but they have done really well (10 and 13). I do have to remind them not to preheat the burner (after my own OOPS holy cow this thing is hot NOW) - be ready to cook when you turn that baby on. With electric it took forever so it was common to turn it on with the pan on the burner while preparing the food we were going to cook. And I did have to adjust to not seeing the idiot light that the burner was on. I did leave the burner on a couple of times when we first moved in. One other thing I didn't realize sort of is burner configuration. I did research and new each hob put out different btu's but until I used it I didn't really 'get it' as to how much different that really is. The high output boil this water burner is so much hotter that if I cook on it like browning meat it's just a little out of control it's so hot. That burner however is also my simmer burner (it has two fire rings) and it works awesome for that too. I initially tried to just stick with that one burner (as I pretty much did with my electric as the jack of all trades) but it just is that much different it's better suited for certain things. I use more burners now than I did before. We have adjusted relatively unscathed.
