Plumbing Design Dilemma Bathrooms

Best way to plumb this vanity

Please see attached photos of plumbing and vanity cabinet. The cabinet currently does not have the countertop installed. We know we'll need to drill 2 holes in open shelf for water lines to come through. We'll use a chrome P-Trap or Bottle Trap since it will show below the drawers. Please give ideas of the best way to plumb this vanity - especially how to feed hot/cold pipes through shelf. Cut copper pipes off below the shelf and connect flexible pipe to the copper, then feed through holes in the shelf and add the shut-offs up high so that they're inside the cabinet? Thank you!

Open up the drywall and see if you could raise the trap arm enough that the trap wasn't exposed or was minimized.

Really ? Ask your plumber and next time think before you buy a vanity with these issues. IMO it is meant to have a visible trap so do one and move on I have an open vanity in my one bathroom it has a chrome trap and honestly the only time you actually notice it is when you sit on the toilet .You have space behind the drawers for the water lines .

Fairly easy to do ... Find three mirror-front wall-mount medicine cabinets that you like, with widths that total about 6-9 inches less than your alcove. Use wood filler strips between the walls and the cabinets, and between the cabinets. They might have to be recessed a bit so the doors can open - depends on which cabinet you buy. Basically you make a 3-compartment wooden box - mount the uplights and downlights on the box, mount the cabinets in their compartments, and attach the filler strips and any molding to the box sides and dividers.

We had successful installation of Ikea vanities in our new house in late 2017. We have six Ikea vanities in our new house including one in the granny suite and one in the garage bathroom; five have Moen faucets and the one in the garage has an Ikea faucet (as an experiment), and installation was the same for all of them. Terrible advice. Usually the water lines are run as shown to avoid putting them into an external wall - this is a freeze protection action! You can either cut the water supplies above the floor and run horizontal lines to a location where the drawer bottom is not an issue and access to the sink faucets are available. One issue, if your new vanity is on legs this piping may be visible from the bathroom. If so, pull up some of the sub floor and run the water lines as described above underneath the sub floor. Someone else can likely help with respect to moving the two drains up - I'm not sure about cutting three additional holes in the three studs.

Do not install a bottle trap. They are more difficult to install and get right compared to a P-trap because they need to align perfectly with the rest of the plumbing. And, even if you succeed with the install, bottle traps do not meet plumbing code in many jurisdictions.

Thank you for your answers. I'm fine with having the chrome trap show so that isn't really my question but I do appreciate the comments. And yes there's room behind the drawers for the lines so that's not the problem either. I was wondering if anyone had ideas for the best way to handle the water lines - how best to feed the water line pipes up through the shelf - cut lines below shelf or ??? I posted this on Friday after my plumber was closed for the weekend thinking I could get a few helpful ideas before I talked with them on Monday.

The plumber is the one to talk to I am not understanding the question through what shelf do you mean ,the counter ?
