New raised bed garden. How did I do?
Comments (13)Update time. So far everything except peppers is growing great. Since the last post I have mulched with leaf mold that IÂve been saving. Mulch looks funny on pictures because I was feeding my lawn with alfa alfa pallets so I threw some in there as well so they are starting to break down and thatÂs what you see on pics. I donÂt know why but all peppers are looking very weak even after I gave them epsom salt as foliage spray. I read that that might help but it didnÂt make a difference. They donÂt look sick just weak like they are missing something. I donÂt think I picked a good spot for them neither. I think next year I'll make a separate raised bed for peppers only. I think they need more sun and maybe slightly different soil mix.As for tomatos Early girl has the biggest tomato of course but Rutgers and Beefstake arenÂt far behind. Brandywine just keeps dropping flowers I guess they are not getting pollinated but I didnÂt have much hope for brandywine anyway, I just wanted to try a little bit of everything to get an idea whats going to work for me. Cucumbers are growing very well too I just need to build some sort of trellis for them. Overall so far so good for my first year. I just have to figure out peppers for next year....See MoreWhat plumbing goes on BEHIND the tile wall in a shower?
Comments (3)If the plastic stuff is the main issue, you can just order a better/fancier Delta trim kit in better or different color materials. But if you want to replace everything (diverter, etc.), you may have extra holes/gaps to cover up, esp. if there's no access from behind the wall, so that means tilework cost on top of the plumbing labor. So let's say a plumber charges 250 or so for labor, you've still got the tile guy to deal with. You may avoid the tile repair with an oversize remodel plate (Moen has one), but you'd probably hate the oversize look....See MoreRaise Plumbing for Pedestals
Comments (5)We built a concrete riser/platform, and did nothing in regards to plumbing, drains, water valves. The work was done "legit" with a licensed Mason and our plumber, also licensed and legit approved it. Our built in riser/platform is almost 9 inches tall. We also have cabinets above our laundry units! I tend to switch and change laundry machines much, much more frequently that most people. These built in risers have saved having to buy several pedestals...some of which can be $200-300 each! Love our built in platform! You will not regret it!...See MorePlumbing clearance behind Hemnes vanity
Comments (1)I can't find the exact dimensions anymore but it's not much clearance! I looked at their vanities for a recent remodel and while the style and storage and price were good, the plumbing was an issue in my particular situation. If it gives you any indication, here is a pic from an IKEA store setup: Good luck!...See Morebrickeyee
