Don't love this table, but does it go with the chairs?
Comments (17)Pal-- timeframe is sooner is better than later, but we don't have anything other than a Halloween party coming up, so a folding table with a fun tablecloth will have to do! Budget is $2000 (thanks, MIL!) BUT, I completely cringe at that number. TY for the link-- I didn't know you could mix/match the bases and legs. Very nice. Stinky-- thanks! I am so wary of CL now. I am still shaking my fist at Past Me for missing such a glaring problem. Maybe it was messed up in the transport? Dunno. Thank you for the Macy's link-- very pretty! BWmom-- yes, that is what I will need to do. I just want to be DONE, though. I like decorating but I hate, hate, hate shopping. I have bought too many things in haste, however, just to be done . . .only to regret. RNSusie, I somehow missed in the past that you could actually SEARCH on Furnishly(always see ads on CL). Thank you! Prickly-- that is a pretty table. Thank you! Funky, that is great to know that they do sales. Definitely worth a phone call! Jane, I never would have thought of the banging! I don't really like the table anyway, but that definitely makes me say no to that style. We are pretty short here, but why take a chance? New Bee, I like a round one, but DH thinks they look messy. I think square will seem too big. The dining room is in the center of the house-- you have to walk through it to get just about everywhere, so it's really tricky. We need a table small enough to get by easily but large enough to seat our family of 7 at least every night. (Figure the kitchen will work in the day.) Hilltop-- good to know! I love those chairs too. kswl, good point about covering the table. Will need to do something like that, I think, in the meantime. My husband just sent me a link to Amish Direct. Does anyone have experience with them? I like this table: We can get whatever finish and also leaves, choose diameter, etc. My "dream" table would be one that I don't have to babysit. I would LOVE to have a table that the kids can play games on, we could hang out there together, etc. without having to always have a pad and tablecloth on. I want to eat and drink there! Do I need formica??? Not such a fan of glass with kids. Here is a link that might be useful: Amish Furniture...See MoreHelp me choose chairs to go with a 17th century dining table!
Comments (118)Hey fellow chair lovers! So, i made a decision 😬 i ordered 2 arch chairs from Sarah Ellison. And I got the big hairy light 😅 we obviously went over budget on the chairs, but they were just exactly right for me. I love the molded seat and postmodern column legs against the tables curves. we’ll do a bench at the back side (still considering a built in) Pictures below of the chairs, the light and a little mock up I did. Thanks again for such a fun and informative thread!...See MoreHelp! White or Natural Dark Wood for chairs with White Table
Comments (9)I like the chairs. but I'd get them sprayed in a lighter teal color. I think that would look great. for the fabric on the seats, bring in the mustard or gold. Or, since you have the blue and pink in the art, go w/the pink color instead of the gold This material would be perfect w/the wall and the table. and works w/the reddish tones of the wood. you may be able to keep your chairs as is if you did this on the seat. or just paint them white https://www.perigold.com/decor/pdp/rm-coco-suite-queens-garden-fabric-rcoc3819.html spray the chairs a robin egg blue and add this material. stunning. bring in a white rug you can lacquer them or use a good spray. Valspar has some nice colors in their spray. I actually combined those exact two colors with a dresser I did. this teal was more blue than yours, but the robins egg would work w/your colors There is also a place that will put any color in a spray can for you. Amy Howard has lacquer in a can, but to do all of those wouldn't be cheap! After spraying, I'd redo the seats. those are actually really easy to do yourself. just go find some fabric of course you could always buy new chairs....See Morewhat dining table and chairs would look best in this small space? d
Comments (15)How many people will be eating at the table on a regular basis? Are you removing the other window coverings because I think they look nice and relate well to the living room. One suggestion would be to have bench seating under your crosses (please keep them) with a narrow long rectangular table and 2 to 3 chairs across from the bench. It would tuck it closer to the wall so you have walking space. You could then put china cabinets or bookcases on either side of the door. Another suggestion would be to set up a table that goes from a console to a table to sit 8-10 peopls. You could set it up as a desk for everyday. It's a hard room because of the doorways....See MoreMisty
