Entryway help needed

How should i design my entryway? i need to put a console table in the entryway and soenthing across in the formal room. the dininjg room is all from restoration hardware .

In the living room, you need a focal point. Do you have anything to display so that bookshelves would be useful? Were you planning on having a TV in that room?

If you don't need shelves or a TV in this room, I would move the white sofa against the wall and put a large piece of art over it. Move the other sofa where the white one is and get two armchairs for the side closest to the dining room. This picture isn't exactly it, but hopefully it is close enough.

I like Porch #1. (A copy of Porch #1 on a wider footprint than your current porch...another 12'' or so added width on both sides of the door & sidelights.) Extending a long porch along the front of your house will shade the windows...depending on where you live, that could be good or bad?

I like the chair and the round wood table. I just think you could use a plant or a warm toned lamp on top. I think centering more in the corner and adding a more substantial warm toned pillow would take it up a notch. I would place the beautiful hydrangea in the large stainless steel container somewhere else. I love it! However, in that spot it seems the odd man out. I would look for a larger entryway rug as well. I am not sure of the colors in your home but maybe you might share a photo of you other living spaces that are nearby to help with colors. As for the table and mirror.... if you want to leave the table, maybe just paint it a darker color so it blends a bit better vs. standing out and add a different mirror or piece of art. No need to start from scratch. You have a lovely entryway and you have done a fine job it just needs a few tweaks.

I think I'd go a little more fancy with the mirror to make this space a little more playful and interesting. I'd say that the smaller size would work better with the console size.

So many options. Just make sure the space is balanced and not overfilled. One option: An offset mirror w/ flowers and key tray on one side. A lamp with candle, family photo and decorative green ball of moss.

If that bench is not in the way it feels like it is in the way...please move it. Your foyer decor should be on the wall to the right of the door as you enter the house. Center your console on the opening into the living room. Center a runner rug in front of it parallel to the wall. Put the bench under the console table with a gallery wall of art and mirrors would be pleasant.

I would consider leaving the furniture in the living room as is and place a tall bookcase against the wall between them facing the entry. It would counter-balance the weight of the foyer decor and provide a focal point. Stack some coffee table books and add decorative items from your travels in it.

Hang a charming picture on the wall to the left of the door as you enter, as something nice to be the first thing one sees.

I should clarify and say the charming picture on the left wall FACING the front door...not the same wall as the door. You know what I meant I'm sure, but I just re-read my post and saw how it might be ambiguous. I'm glad you are considering my ideas. Have some fun!
