A Bit off-topic - pain after eating green tomatoes?

I had a ton of unripe green tomatoes this Fall and decided to make this green tomato casserole that I like. I also made a second one and froze it. What's curious is that the morning after eating the first casserole, I developed diverticulitis and had to go to the E.R. Took antibiotics, and it seemed to heal. A couple weeks later, I took the frozen casserole out and ate some of it, and the next day I had very similar pains (but not as bad as the first time). I don't remember this ever happening before, but I did use younger/smaller green tomatoes this time. I've read that there are certain "toxins" in green tomatoes, but you need to eat a ton of them to experience any toxicity.

I LOVE this casserole, but now I'm afraid of it. haha Anyhow........just curious if any of you have had GI problems after eating green tomatoes? I know it didn't cause the diverticulitis, but may have contributed to the pain of it. I love green tomatoes, so I hope it's not a problem in the future.

Any of you have problems with them?? Thanks!
