Comments (14)We had the big green worm on our tomato plant. My wife killed it. I felt bad. Then Last night, there was another one. I have it in a bucket with all the tomato leaves it wants and onion stems to climb around on. It is a fascinating creature. Other than eating a few leaves and a little tomato, it is not harming anyone. I am happy to have this one, after my wife viciously killed the last one. Comments (4)I am one of those people allergic to a really wide range of things, the allergist determined I was allergic to so many things that skin tests were usless, however I have used the Bt products regularly with no problem. While there may be some people that would react to Bt being sprayed once it is out of the air and one the plant there should be no problem so that person would need to not be in the vicinity of the spray, several hundred feet probably....See MoreCaterpillar eating my tomatoes

Comments (2)I think this little beastie is (or was?) a tomato fruitworm, aka Helicoverpa zea. An article on them at the link below, and if you google that bot name you'll see photos like this that I think will confirm. (pics of moth and larvae) http://bugguide.net/node/view/743928 With all the wilts and rusts and such, you wonder why you bother.
