Word art is generally frowned on here.

Visit Etsy or Art.com for wall decor. You have some big walls and huge furniture so you need wall decor on that scale. Get one attractive piece where the Thankful sign is, three times that size. Center it on the couch, not on the whole wall.

As to decorating the breakfast area - we can’t see it well at all.

Yes, a pic with more light in eating table area would help. Is the table & rug centered under hanging light? Hard to tell but does ’t look like it. Can you move it into center & away from window? The cute little chair under the 2 framed art - doesn’t seem to go with anything or serve a purpose. I’d remove it to LR or BR as looks too small to go with couch. Center the potted plant that’s next to chair on that small wall & try hanging the 2 framed pieces vertically one above the other. As to word art, who cares if Houzzers frown on it!? , the only thing I see is that it’s too small & lost on the wall. Either create an arrangement of several pieces of art as in a gallery type array, or find a very large art that makes you smile for that wall. The huge couch looks comfy & provides great seating but there’s no tables to set my popcorn on! I see the arm rest cup holders but I’d still like end tables or a center coffee table.

@Alese Art over couch should be centered over the couch not on wall. Is that a footstool & not a chair as I thought under the 2 framed arts? It still would be good to move it over to end of sofa by fireplace or someplace like that. Dining table looks centered under light - is it? Is there room to get into chairs along windows without moving table?

Don’t think you need to ’break up’ these two areas. They flow well together. Just needs some color - Art will do that! The dropped ceiling over breakfast area also defines space from TV area.

You would have to move the table. I'm thinking of replacing that table with a round table. Would a gallery wall work over the couch and would that still need to be centered on the couch and not the wall.

@Alese Yes, gallery wall should be centered over couch, Do some research on how to create a gallery wall. Needs a theme & all pieces need a common denominator in frame styles & colors. Doing a mockup with the actual pieces is best before attempting to hang. Some choose one or two pieces of large art over gallery wall because it's easier & they don't like the busyness of a gallery wall look. Look at sites like art.com for ideas on both.

As for table, before I'd spend any $$ I would do this experiment. A round table in same spot will still have issue of chair by window too close. Problem is the light location that table centers under. So, for experiment, Move existing table away from window wall enough so that back 2 chairs can be easily pulled out & used. Move the rug out so table is centered on it. Live with the new arrangement long enough to determine how traffic flows around the table & into & out of kitchen. Can tne patio door open without hitting table? Then make decision about if you want different size & shape of table. The dining light would need to be moved to center over table but if it's a short distance move, it's likely pretty easy. For larger distances where a hole is left, a ceiling medallion might cover hole so no ceiling repair needed.

Place a long credenza on the big wall and put the TV on it. Rotate the sectional. Nice stair sconces with gallery wall.

That's funny. I also meant to say replace the stair sconces -- with something larger and more eye-catching. I just had a thought...a nice big, large coffee table would ground the room and seating area.

@Alese Great that table move works! What’s the distance light needs to move to be centered over table? That’s often the determining factor. If anyone in your house is handy it may be DIY. But,first step ALWAYS is to turn off breaker box even if only loosening base plate to check things out. I wanted to move my kitchen dining light 12" but couldn’t do it easily due to a number of factors so we wound up just shortening the chain so light was a little higher than our nearby island pendants in our kitchen dining area. Our light is centered in dining area but table is not.. Our issues were that the wires hidden in ceiling weren't long enough to reach new location a foot away on the other side of a beam. We also have a 3 way light switch - two locations to turn that light on /off. We would've needed an electrician for extensive rewiring & a for big original hole left I was told would have to be covered with a metal plate due to wiring. On the opposite end, a friend moved their light just a few inches, had plenty of wire & one light switch. They covered the small exposed hole left with a larger base plate for light. So the size of job & what you wind up doing depends on how the light is wired now. For my situation, it's more important to have the table in right spot as that affects the whole room flow & is what's most visible. My light is pretty & looks pretty & just fine hanging on shorter chain. It's not the first thing anyone notices, if they ever do, that it's not directly centered over table but is centered in dining area.

ETA - some may suggest just swagging light over to center of table which is an option but we chose not to do that.

I read that the swag is making a style comeback so you will be ahed of the curve.

I thnk a big white coffee table or ottoman would be nice. I like your white pillows and throw you need more of those...the white brightens up the room.

I'm glad you like it. Yes the lamp should stay. I have the plant a little too close. Nevermind the console with items. I tried it and it detracts from the artwork.

We have this height dining set and love it. Nice to watch TV while munching. A round table will give you more room but less tabletop. This one is 42' across, 48" would be better.

I forgot to say COUNTER HEIGHT table. Oh you're gonna sit at this table. The height is just so nice. You'll see. Trust me on this one lol. Make sure the space between the chair seat and table top looks like this. Some sets the seat is too low and the tabletop too high-- like at your chin...dumb.
