RFG island with soapstone perimeter countertops?
Comments (8)I don't know about Rainforest Green granite, but I am pairing Turquoise granite with Jucca Soapstone. Turquoise is a pretty uniform mixture of bluish green, black and white so it doesn't have the kind of movement that your Rainforest green has. If there is any way you can find a soapstone at the same place you got the granite, have them place them next to one another so you can get an idea of how they look together. You said you are thinking of a quiet soapstone, so I assume there won't be an issue with too much movement in the soapstone. Just make sure the coloration in both stones works together....See MorePick my cabinet color! Butcher Block Island, Soapstone perimeter
Comments (12)kimbydewolf - I am considering the same things! I want soapstone on the perimeter and a navy island, so I was trying to figure out what would look best. I thought butcher block with a navy island looked gorgeous. I am also considering pietro de cardosa as an alternative to soapstone and thought about maybe having pietro as an island countertop, but worried that there was not enough contrast between the grey and the navy. I ordered white cabinets. I love color but don't want it all to be blue bc I worry about styles changing. I do think navy is very classic, though. I welcome ideas and thoughts!...See Moreneed help choosing perimeter countertops to match quartzite island
Comments (27)appreciate you all taking the time to reply. wish i could reply to each comment individually just after each comment but unfortunately doesn't look like i can do that. @rnonwheels -flooring will be luxury vinyl plank; considered black countertops but i really like how white really brightens and opens up a room @mint design studio -my flooring might be a bit busy, but i'm likely doing simple, white 3x9 (or larger) subway tile for backsplash @rachel nye -i might consider doing all namib sky if the stone yard would refund me for the allure slab i bought. although i bought it cuz i absolutely love it, so i'm leaning more towards keeping it. don't have enough to do perimeter counters. thanks for the pic -i love it. is it a calacatta or white volakas? @sunfeather -some of the larger chunks of grey looking clouds would probably end up being removed with cutouts for sink and cooktop. i'll see if i can post a pic of the flooring. likely doing a 3x9 or 3x12 subway tile for backsplash this is the flooring we are using: and possible backsplash:...See MoreKitchen reno - need help picking tile, backsplash & countertop
Comments (8)your pics are super tiny and sideways. have no idea what the kitchen layout looks like because we can't see it. forget the backsplash tile for now. that comes last after everything is installed. (and that arabesque mosiac is a tad outdated) Ditto the hardware. wait. the style you picked is better suited to a more modern cabinet. color is fine but that super long handle is better suited for large drawers or pantry cabinets. what color white are you painting? you're getting dark floors but tile in the kitchen? why not continue w/the wood? I just painted all my cabs and put down hardwood. I love it. Right now, get one of your doors painted. Take that door with you (and your flooring piece) and go pick out a countertop you like. nothing else matters until you do that. Using the wood flooring will open up many more options than that porcelain tile you picked. post better pics. show us where the wood floor is w/the dining room. (can you get more of that wood? maybe in chevron design? )...See Morelisaam
