nikinikinine, thanks for posting the pics. Its so helpful to see things. Very pretty floor tile and the smaller 3x6's are a nice soft blend. I like the Sterling grout & is a possibility. That might be the color for my black slate to give some contrast. I am still waiting for my samples to arrive in the mail. I'll have to check the underlying color IRL. For the walls I will check the white and silver shadow samples to see which is best. Then I will be ordering products online from one of the venders linked on the Laticrete site.

@functionthenlook, I took advantage of the 40% off PLUS had a $10 off coupon that they honored. Great deal! @4Heidesign @paintguy22, the paint is from the mid-80s, at the latest. Although the alcohol test hints latex, a part of a doorway leading to the kitchen that was recently painted over in latex is peeling, so to be safe, I will probably repaint with an alkyd as was suggested by the contractor. There's a lot of trim, too much to sand, in my opinion. Thanks for your tips and suggestions!

Medium gray roof, remove the shutters on the front. The right shade of taupe sounds like a good idea if you don't like the idea of green. Since the roof is urgent, deal with that and then start sampling colors for the siding. BM has a lot of good colors for exteriors in their Historical Colors. Don't commit to a color until you have looked at a large scale sample on all sides of the house (you can always paint a board and move it around) during various times of day and weather conditions. Too many people have their whole house painted and don't end up liking the color. Paint the garage door the same color as the siding - white is not doing your house any favors. Your front door could be black.
