Netflix 'The Gray Man'

I watched it yesterday. Lots of action, lots of violent action. I bet they spent a million dollars just on the crashed cars. And it has Rege-Jean Page who I think is one of the sexiest men on earth right now. To be sure, there are critics, but I enjoyed every minute of the two plus hours of nonstop action.

We watched it last night and was surprised that we liked it. We don't usually watch movies with that much violent action.

I read the write-up in today's paper and plan on watching it. I like Ryan Gosling, and certainly enjoyed Rege-Jean Page in Bridgerton. I had no idea he's done work outside of Bridgerton.

Oh, I love the Tudors! It's the only show my husband and I watch together. lol. Did you know this is the 500th anniversary of Henry becoming King? There are some excellent books on him, the one's by Allison Weir are perfect. She writes it so the reader can actually understand what happened back then, and she's done a lot of research. Team Katherine! lol Don't you just love the actress who plays Katherine? All the acting and actors are superb. I'm still on season 1 of Greys, for some reason the local station did repeats last Sunday night, I got so mad because I was looking forward to a new episode! No, I haven't gotten to the boyfriends past yet. If they keep repeating it, I'm going to buy the darn series! lol.

I really enjoyed the series. The camera work, the music, etc. The first season is much more graphic than the second. It took forever for the second season to happen so I binged watched as soon as it came out. My friend is trying to talk me into going to see 50 Shades but I have no interest at all because the book was awful, poor characters, poor writing, poor plot, repetitive....that's enough. I never give up on a book but I skimmed a good portion of it - too predictable that I didn't think I would miss anything by doing this. I thought about caving for a split second because I thought Jamie Dornan is great on The Fall but I don't think there is any saving the book for me. So I have to pass.

We couldn't see what Netflix offered without joining. Once we could see the titles, we found very few titles of interest -- that we had not already seen! Our home library has more recent titles than Netflix. Amazon showed us what's on offer before we signed up. We found recent episodes of two TV programs we wanted to see: "The Americans" Season 3; "The Knick" Season 2. They have "Doc Martin" Season 7, but we can get that once we're home. We looked into streaming because we are on Maui and running out of titles of interest that we can rent for $1.50 from Redbox here. Movies we've enjoyed here from Redbox: Me and Earl and the Dying Girl Black Mass Burnt The Runner Bridge of Spies Truth 99 Homes The Maui library had: Black Swan The Gift Love and Other Drugs There are more titles of interest to us on Amazon, but our home library also has them now. We currently have enough 'stock' via Amazon to keep us entertained until we go home end of March. We record PBS offerings, but current series are available via Amazon too.

"Last Cab to Darwin" - Aussie road trip movie - a dying man drives cross country thru Outback to reach a eauthanasia doctor .... and unexpected things keep occuring. "The Imitation Game" fascinating true story of a sorta semi-autistic genius type who cracks nazi code thus shortening the war by several yrs. Both these were good - and imho any movie that gets me to cry is good! Wondering what other movie options are there besides netflix? Saw the last batch of listings of "new" films and its ALL CRAP - nothing but murders and weird .... and I do mean weird... sexual behaviors. Like to think Im open minded but Jeez Louise. Some things Id rather not know about. I watch a lot of movies and Im to the point where Ive seen ev I want to see on Netflix basic membership -I would upgrade my membership except I realllly dont want to mess around with sending dvds back and forth--- ughhhh! Would much rather watch online?

I was very disappointed - nothing like the book. Stopped watching after 1 hour, seemed too cartoony.

We watched it last night. My husband liked it, I was ambivalent; it's not my favorite genre. They certainly left it open for a sequel.

I just finished watching it. I now have an ear-worm🤣

I thought it was good. Amazingly he was able to take out a whole troop cuffed to a bench. Lol

The quick humour was funny by the 70's style villain.

I like Rosling. I also like the Bond movies which are also far-fetched 😉

I think this is meant to be the new Bourne series. It’s definitely not on the same level; Gosling is fine in The Gray Man but Matt Damon is an a exceptional talent.
