Chisue, can Amazon Prime come to your TV if having a Roku? You think the movies are better?

I've watched countless movies on Netflix, most of them quite good. Not knowing what kind of films you enjoy, it's hard to make recommendations!

Some of the titles I remember are Philomena, And So It Goes, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Iris, Silver Lining, Forest Gump, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Chorus, Chocolat, Marie's Story. Lots of different genres.

I didn't know Philomena was on Netflix. I've been wanting to watch that one.

White or Black, The Face Of Love, Nurse Jackie, Midsommer Murders, Foyles War, Doc Martin, Broadchurch, George Gently, The Aviator, Davinci Code. Just the ones I've watched on Netflix off the top of my head. There are thousands of titles. Sometimes it takes a bit of searching. There are oodles of Documentaries also.

"Experimenter" "The Railway Man" " Dope" these are 3 I've watched lately. I wouldn't rate any 5 stars but definitely all entertaining. Not a movie but " Better Call Saul" is 5 stars in my opinion...

We just finished watching Crazy, Stupid Love. Steve Carel is in it who we don't like (The Office) but he's terrific in this one. Ryan Gosling and Julianne Moore are also in it.

Frankie and Grace is the Netflix show that Nanny is thinking of. It's a 1/2 hour comedy and is hilarious.

Socks, re your question about Amazon, like with any other service, there has to be a contract between Amazon and the device you're using. I believe currently Amazon Instant Video (which should include Prime content) is available on Roku.

You should also be able to send it from a smartphone or tablet to your TV using EZCast, and there's supposed to be a workaround that lets you do it with Chromecast.

Socks, you won't find the newest, just out movies on Netflix (or Amazon), but if you search properly, there's literally thousands and thousands of titles to choose from, in every imaginable genre.

I'm guessing that if you found it difficult to find something interesting, it's because you didn't dig deeper or use their search mode.

We've watched a lot of movies and shows on Netflix--it is well worth the monthly fee. One of my favorite shows is Heartland...a great family show, and I love the horses.

I stream Amazon Prime through my Roku with no problems.

On Roku, simply visit the channel store and add channels, including Amazon Prime. If you have a Smart TV, add Prime using the channel store.

On direct TV one of my favorite shows this season is Colony, I really started because I love the actor he is so good looking, but we love the show. Josh Holloway, those dimples!

We are watching billion dollar wreck, not great.

Back again and good are Suits, major crimes, Rizzoli and isles, big bang, blacklist, how to get away with murder, blindspot, American pickers, survivor, Grey's anatomy, killing fields but it's over, they have been replaying them.

We got into the killing fields because it was a true story and search for a murderer in Louisiana.

I like the people's couch, they are very funny. Gold Rush, I like flea market flip, and second chance new show , elementary, American Idol, and limitless, all the Chicago shows pd, fire, and med, Axe men, Yankee jungle is a cool new show it's about an animal scantuary and the family that runs it very interesting.

We couldn't see what Netflix offered without joining. Once we could see the titles, we found very few titles of interest -- that we had not already seen! Our home library has more recent titles than Netflix.

Amazon showed us what's on offer before we signed up. We found recent episodes of two TV programs we wanted to see: "The Americans" Season 3; "The Knick" Season 2. They have "Doc Martin" Season 7, but we can get that once we're home.

We looked into streaming because we are on Maui and running out of titles of interest that we can rent for $1.50 from Redbox here.

There are more titles of interest to us on Amazon, but our home library also has them now. We currently have enough 'stock' via Amazon to keep us entertained until we go home end of March. We record PBS offerings, but current series are available via Amazon too.

I always check out the 4-5 star ratings shows and series. If it sounds good I watch it. I found some really great movies I would have never thought to watch. I liked "Frankie and Grace" too, I didn't think I would but it got addicting. I loved "Life unexpected", "The 4400", "Twisted", then there was one about a Elvis impersonator that was very good. I can't remember the name of it. I loved "Lost" I had never seen it before. The Christian ones are good too.
