Love the vibe…beautiful room! So a couple questions…is the large cabinet built in? Is it modular meaning 2 or 3 independent pieces bolted together so that it could possibly be reused as 2/3 smaller cabinets? Is the reason you want to see the pool for supervision? Please do not put tv above the fireplace…it should stay somewhere on the cabinet wall.

I’d remove the huge cabinet and replace with a long console table and put TV above the console table. You can use the storage beneath.

Also, I love your 2 chairs but not in their current location. Your lamps and side tables are great too. I think it’s also the 2 couches that are the wrong size and look for the room. Take measurements, and pics with you to a professional and purchase a new couch or sectional if that’s what is recommended, and in your budget. The room is fabulous.

The cabinet does not come apart. I want the pool view because it is a huge gorgeous rectangular pool, snd I like to see it while I am sitting.
Where should I put the two late chairs. We really can’t invest in new furniture at this time. But I just bought the small leather sofa for $500 yesterday.

Agree with the console advice. In general, I think you have way too much stuff in the room and on the surfaces. I’d get rid of one of the three couch/setee pieces and add a rug to ground the space. Maybe pull the couch under the windows in a bit and have chairs flaming each side of the fireplace. Definitely simply wall hanging and surface decor. You didn’t ask, but I think a fresher, crisper paint color would breathe life into the space. It might just be my screen, but the walls look a beigey yellow. I’d go more white, I think.

Whatever you do, know that placing a TV over a fireplace is not recommended unless there is really no other place to put it. That places it too high for comfortable viewing and also puts it front and center as a focal point which means you're making a black hole your focal point. All of the other advice you got is good, so try some of it out. For me, I think a light colored rug would be the best investment. While area rugs can be expensive, there are less expensive options and sometimes the best thing to do is to go to a dedicated flooring store and buy a remnant. They can be trimmed to the best size for your space and the edges bound to make a very nice area rug. They're usually available in more than just bedroom plush styles. Get one with a pattern. At the moment you have too much brown and beige.

Just move the sofa that is in front of the windows off of the window wall and further into the room - to form more of an L configuration with the other sofa.

Consider possibly doing a slipcover on the larger fabric sofa to make it all look more cohesive - a slipcover in a white/off-white color.

And get a sofa table for the back of the larger sofa (i.e. the sofa facing the fireplace); and put the table lamps, that are currently in front of the windows, on the new sofa table, if possible. If you need to get new table lamps in order to do that, then in either case just remove the other table lamps from in front of those pool view windows.

The existing wall color is fine. The existing wood cabinetry is fine.

I agree with the suggestion to pull the sofa off the window wall to create a L shape seating arrangement, maybe even enough for a path behind it so you can walk over and look at the pool. The lamps, plants and partially drawn shades are blocking the windows, you have four small sections of only about 10"-18" that you can see out of now. We don't have measurements but it looks like the chairs can then be moved to flank the built in and give you another place to look outside once the view is opened up. Art in the same size frames can go above the chairs and create symmetry on that wall. Your wall space doesn't allow for a lot of art but you can bring pattern and color in with the rug, pillows, throws, etc.

The settee and chair look crowded together. I like the idea of a sofa table better but if you're working with what you have, try the settee back to back with the sofa, add pillows and some low profile pharmacy floor lamps for light.

Tweaking what you have…Keep mirror above the fireplace but center it and move the geode(??) down to the hearth. Remove all other small decor while you move things around. Remove the yellow leather sofa…can you return it? It doesn’t work in the space. Spend the money on a large area rug and a frame for the beautiful family photo to replace the red/yellow art that does not fit in this space. Place the velvet sofa in front of the windows flanked by the end tables/lamps there, but move them away from the window wall a bit. Then move the pair of chairs opposite the fireplace and place the lucite table between them. Top with the decorative dish. Then move the oversized chair into the corner to the right of the fireplace with the garden stool next to it with the money plant/vase on top. Move the white vase with spike greenery to the right of the cabinet. Then step back and assess. While the octagonal mirror works with the vibe, two mirror moments in a room is not ideal. While it requires a budget, operational draperies for the window wall will be easier to operate, give you options to open them for viewing the pool or close them for better tv viewing without window reflection, and will finish off that beautiful room!

This may seem extreme and is something you may have to do in stages, but the furniture needs some unifying style-wise. I would replace the chandeliers with a single large one that is less

fou-fou and feminime in this rustic feeling room. I'd also get rid of the big cabinet, the velvet sofa, both mirrors, the two chairs and the heavy tables; the styles and visual weight of these are just too disparate and not a fit for the architectural style of the room. Hang that great piece of art 5" above the mantel, and get a low credenza for the TV that is 25% wider than the TV itself. Center that on the big wall and do an art gallery around it. Place the yellow leather sofa facing the fireplace. Get four swivel chairs and arrange to make a "U" with the sofa and a coffee table. The chairs nearer the TV will be able to turn and view TV. If it isn't too crowded, put the settee and the wall of windows. It could also work in a foyer, bedroom or on a large landing.

Lovely is right. I don't know styles enough -- sort of French Country, chateau feeling? Scale of 2 large striking chandeliers, along with high vaulted ceiling/beams - might this allow for grand 'maximum visuals' of furniture? and if seating is needed... shrug my shoulders.

Same scale thing -- if fp were not full all the way up, I think the large unit would overpower, but seems to fit. Lucky you!

Lovely room. I would move couch closer from in front of the windows to form an L shaped arrangement. Then you could get rid of one end table and keep the one where the two couches meet. Also, think I might trade the tall tv cabinet for a lower console to add visual space to the room. The two matching chairs near the fireplace could be placed on either side of the new tv console. An area rug would bring color and anchor the seating area. Could you part with the settee? Maybe use it in the bedroom? Nice but not needed in this room. Also a piece behind the couch across from the fireplace would be a great place to display a few of your favorite things. Do you have a something you could repurpose here? Good luck!

I would like to tear down the entire cabinet so the velvet couch can go on that wall, with the large mirror hanging horizontally above it. The leather sofa will face the fireplace and with a sofa table behind it with two mirrored lamps. The two large chairs will then go on either side of the fireplace. Then the wall of windows will show the large rectangular pool. So the tv would go above fireplace with a picture on it when not in use.
How does this sound? (I’d like to keep an eclectic feel)

What are the measurements of your TV, fireplace and how high from the ground is your TV currently? I assume it's in the middle third of the cabinet. Unless you remove the brick mantle, your TV will be very, very high and wider than the mantle, the chandeliers will cover a portion of the top and only 3-4 people will be able to watch it.

Measure your TV, cut a large piece of cardboard to that size. If you're going to keep the mantle, place it there. Sit where the leather and velvet sofas will be placed, stare at the cardboard for several minutes like you would watching TV and note how comfortable or uncomfortable it will be. Even if you keep a picture on it when not in use, the landscape orientation will be longer than your mantle and higher than you'd place a piece of art. You may have to get a smaller TV to make it proportionate and you'll want to take precautions so the fireplace heat doesn't damage it, plus plan for cords, etc.

I understand and appreciate your wish to sit and look outside - it might be better to move the TV out completely if that is the overriding priority.
