justgottabme: Yes! excellent plan! The Tv needs to be in that corner next to the fireplace -- either mounted on the wall or sitting on a console or cabinet. Having a cabinet in that spot would anchor that whole corner. And more excellent ideas above too! Love the idea of bookshelves in each of the corners -- perhaps just try basic Ikea Billy shelving -- or other build-it-yourself shelves (try stores like Targer or Walmart)-- just to see if that plan will work for you? Or look for vintage shelving or bookcases on your local Craigs List! Swivel chairs can be found -- check your local Craigs List! But for now -- once you move the TV -- try placing one sofa facing the fireplace -- and another one facing the window -- forming the classic L-shape.

Well...at 17'X 14' you don't have much room for built-in like this on a side wall. They will take approximately 2' in depth, plus another 6" minimum for a window jamb. It doesn't look like your floor plan incorporates a 2'-6" jamb on either wall, so some change will be needed to the builder's plan to make this possible. Be sure to check and verify your furniture layout will fit the available space after the built-in. Good luck!

In my opinion you could go neutral sofa, neutral lounge chair, and green or patterned accent chairs. Would you want a pattern on your accent chairs? Or would you like to keep pattern to the rug and curtains and accessories? Another thing to think about is armrests versus no armrests...I think no armrest would look cleaner for the accent chairs, but I don’t think they would be super comfortable. Here are some options
