Doesn't look GOLD to me
Comments (23)With no/little "white" and not being a lover of "pink" your garden must be a dazzling display of....red...blue...yellow and...green? ;). Is there a predominant color? Probably the green you mentioned! :-) Remember, my (back) garden is shade, so many of the plants I was introduced to as I began my journey to gardening ecstasy were ones suited to that environment, so often any flowers were more an interesting side effect - things like foliage and texture, and exploring different shades of green - from black/green straight through to white/green. Then learning more about certain flowers which actually thrive in shade, as compared to sun...I'm thrilled to still be learning... Now the front postage-sized garden is another matter - it's my sun playground which I just started digging up in earnest last season! And I can barely remember all the colours I threw in there - and yes, in spite of my words, I'm sure there is some pink and white therein......See MorePowder Room Help - just redone and doesn't look "right"
Comments (20)your tile does look lavender. what is your vanity color? My sister has done a lighter lavender gray in her kitchen, with white cabinets. The tile is a soft grayish limestone look-a-like luxury vinyl. The whole room is so well put together, color wise. She had a kitchen designer help her. I don't know who chose the whites and gray. She probably chose the lavender gray, and the team chose the white for the cabinets and case work. The point I'm making, is get a color that goes with the tile, while in the room. The lighting will make a huge difference with color. And our own personal preferences. Type of lighting will change the color of paint throughout the day. Maybe you know all this. Paint color can be tricky because of the lighting. When I was choosing my paint for my second bathroom, I wanted something different than the typical greens/blues that I've used throughout the house. So I tried a tan. The room has tan and browns in it. Out of 4 samples I selected a good candidate. I painted the whole room and about puked when I was done. My neighbor loved it. To me it went pink, like antique pepto-bismol. I got another paint and redid the whole room lickity split, in a greenish blue gray, almost white. I love the color. It goes with my tiles, as did the other paint, but I just couldn't stand the pink that I saw. And I like pink. Anyway, I'd go with the color of the tile, matched with paint, darker or lighter, when you have the correct lighting you want in the room. I would then use accessories as complementary or analogous colors for interest....See MoreHelp with our dining area. Something doesn't look right!

Comments (54)Sandra - You know how it goes. She's pretty sure she doesn't like it. The majority of people prefer the updated structure design over the existing house, aesthetically (driveway and landscaping aside) so I'm hoping that gives her a little confidence that it will look better. I think she is just accustomed to looking at it like this for so long, any change is a little foreign looking...and I understand because that house "is" a little difficult to update on the front due to the roofline and small lot, we don't have a ton of options. The amount of structure I've shown is already slightly over-budget. ;(...See Moredecoenthusiaste
