I really like what you have now! Are these windows in the same room? Could someone see into your house through the top of the windows? Is it a concern only at night?

Have you considered blackout roller blinds? They would fit nicely with all the windows and not take up too much space.

You could try some Roman shades. They might work well to cover the top of the windows if you're only looking for the top part to be covered. See the images below:
