Quick, I Need Your Help with My Dining Room Table Options
Comments (44)You're definitely right. I've already decided that the mirror has to go. It's 8 years old. I spent most of the afternoon trying to find a new one. No success. I could repaint the frame (wouldn't deal with the style of it, however), or just put it in another room. I need something with a simpler frame in either gold or wood tone. If the mirrors at Stenella weren't so outrageously expensive, I would've bought one there. They had a couple at Homegoods that were fake bamboo, but they were too small or too over the top. I like the height of the existing mirror for reflecting light and breaking up some of the dark blue walls....See MoreNeed help with arrangement of dining area / table
Comments (18)Here is how a 90degree turn would look like... We are too close to the kitchen and are left with too much space between our table and the living room. We are now looking for a new dining table which doesn‘t look so heavy (maybe mid century). We‘ll try to center it more under the light and change the fixture to have a pendant light over the table. I hope to have a solution with this. Thanks again for all your feedback!...See MoreNeed help with recessed lights for our dining table
Comments (8)Thanks! 2 cans plus a blank is a perfect solution. And I love the buffet can. I was going to put art lights above the paintings over the buffet. But a can is simpler, and lets me change up the art from time to time. One more question about the cans on the other end of the table. My first diagram was sloppy--living in a demo site and losing track of details. Here's an older diagram of the whole room, measured more accurately. The existing cans are 6" off from the table's center. I think the optimal thing would be to remove those lights and put in a new set of four cans at the table corners. But if my coowner objects, is it reasonably good enough to just leave those there and add the over-table and buffet light?...See MoreNeed help choosing a light fixture, dining table and window trim
Comments (18)Is your trim brown wood in other spaces? Not sure if one room with painted trim will work with spaces that are nearby. Or is the kitchen the outlier? There has to be a perfect warm white for your kitchen. Have you looked at BM Swiss Coffee? It has a beige (coffee) undertone as opposed to yellow or pink. Off white sounds right for this space with your cabinets, but nothing in the gray family or it will all get kind of dreary. I’m sure a Pro will correct me if I’m mistaken....See MoreHelene Walford
