Has anyone else traded with Kathleen Bischoff (gardenlady1948)
Comments (9)I apologize for the evocative nature of one of the member's posts regarding a failed trade. I was having a bit of trouble getting my seed trades, with he and two others, put in the mail in a timely manner. Following a number of harassing and threatening emails, I decide to forget about the whole thing. This makes me a bad prospect for seed trades. I'll admit that. It does not make me a rapist, nor does the court that tried me, nor does the unfortunate woman who falsely accused me. I am not ashamed to have this article shown, as it represents an error in American justice, and there are many many more men out there who have been railroaded in this manner, and need not fear shame or reprisal at the hands of vigilantes. I have asked this garden web user, whose post you may have seen, to stop harassing me. I apologize to the two others who never got their seeds exchanged, but I had lost patience with the process, following the flurry of emails, including a threat to come all the way to Omaha to deal physically with the return postage. I will go back over my emails and send appropriate cash remunerance to those who got lost in the mad shuffle precipitated by one skunk of a trader. My attorney has been notified of this further slanderous activity by reyna1,and I'll be keeping an eye out around my home and work too. I've affixed a few other articles regarding my actual life, which includes a more recent story from the Lincoln Paper. you may have to cut and paste into your browser, but the truth is I am a real person, and have done fund raising benefits for a number of years to help out women who are subject to violence, as well as other social justice issues. It sickens me the way this has gotten out of hand, and I would gladly buy my seeds in the future. www.allbusiness.com/humanities-social-science/visual-performing-arts-music/14053132-1.html www.timmcmahan.com/2006/.../column-64-life-of-outlaw.html - http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=30&ved=0CEUQFjAJOBQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fspin-cdnsrc.texterity.com%2Fspin%2F200807%2F%3Fpg%3D121&ei=AYvvTNKREIS0lQfvn6nwDA&usg=AFQjCNFAX6RUtX8PwS9u6IKmtoLZzuV0hg http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=43&ved=0CB0QFjACOCg&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.haymakersbaseball.8k.com%2Fpast-2000.html&ei=TYvvTLaqF4SKlwe0spTzDA&usg=AFQjCNHZ9SEbgXNbk1ij4jtZjOpJnsKYrw Here is a link that might be useful: lincoln journal star 2010...See MoreHas anyone else done this???
Comments (20)Hi all! Sorry I didn't get to join in on the conversations earlier today-had to work :( The rooting hormone I used was some Walmart cheapie that has been under my sink for 2 years. Must have worked though! My problem is that my friends don't really care much for plants. Especially plants that have to be brought in over the winter. I don't think I have one single friend with a basement. Now, another question, since these are already growing in pots, can they be removed and shipped bare root this spring? Is that safe to do? If so, I will have plenty to send out. If not, this Illinois weather isn't the greatest for setting around brugs. They may like full sun, but the 95-100 degree days we got were rough on them, so I kept having to move them. If I can send these out safely in the spring, I think that would be my best bet and learn my lesson for next year! Joyceann...See MoreAnyone sell (home parties)
Comments (16)Did anyone else have trouble accessing the website that Mark Macey posted? It's unavailable to me - but I could access his email address (didn't try to send a message, though - didn't have anything to say: O.K., I know that sounds strange from loquacious joyful). hollyj3, Often when you sell goods, you must first buy them, pay shipping, store them, lose some to deterioration, have money tied up in inventory, pay insurance, shipping to customer, worry about getting paid, etc. Some companies offering goods will drop ship, so that avoids inventory problems for you - but few companies do the shipping themselves, they farm it out to others, who charge substantial fees. All of which increases the price of the goods. Especially if you've been recruited by others, who also get a small piece of the action. As quite a few have said - often MLM products are overpriced, for the reasons alluded to above. You can't ship products over the internet - but you can sure as heck transfer ideas using that method. The internet is a great place to move ideas from person to person. Do you have a skill or knowledge that others would like to have if they knew about it, that you can make available to people? Developing the idea takes some time, effort and emotional energy. It may involve some time to do research, etc., though often that will develop in bite-size pieces as you go. Once your information is gathered and assembled in a professional way, it's no trouble to duplicate it. And no additional cost tied up in inventory. All that you must do is send the messages over the internet. Very simple. Once the information is in place, you have three problems: *how are you going to let potential clients know that your service is available, and *that it is of such superior quality that they should ask for your product rather than similar types of information offered by others? *Third is that you have to arrange for transfer of the money from the client to you. Sorry - you can't ship it over the internet - though there are agencies that will look after the transfer (for a fee, of course, which you may or may not feel is at a justifiable level). If you look at "Organizing the Home"(?), I think it's "bouncing pig" that's been working as a power seller on ebay, and recently was working on an idea of helping people organize their home, with a friend, but is backing down, as she feels that the friend (of many years) is too controlling. She has an idea for selling goods that she makes on the internet. Good wishes for a better result in whatever aspect of business that you choose to get involved during the New Year - and best wishes to you and yours. ole joyful...See MoreHelp with wording a party invitation to say no gifts
Comments (34)From Emily Post "Q: I am throwing a birthday party for my son and want to invite his whole class. I donÂt want other parents to be inconvenienced and would rather this be a B-day party with no gifts. Of course we will have a dinner and give presents from family and close friends after the class party is over. How do I let parents who I donÂt know well know that they should not bring gifts? A: Gifts are expected for birthday and anniversary parties, but when honorees really donÂt want presents, their wishes should be respected. In the past, any reference to gifts on invitations was considered in poor taste, because guests were assumed to know the occasions when gifts were obligatory, and even today, itÂs incorrect to mention gifts on wedding invitations. But in light of the current gifts-for-every craze, itÂs a courtesy to inform guests when presents are not expected. The etiquette is to write "No gifts, please" at the bottom of the invitation  or to tell invitees when inviting them in person or by phone. When you receive an invitation with such a request, it should be honored. Showing up with a present when asked not to would embarrass the hosts, the honoree, and other guests who, correctly, didnÂt bring anything. If you want to give a special token of affection, you may do so at another time." See - it's fine to put "no gifts, please" on your invites. And I don't see anything wrong with having folks bring a dish to share instead of gifts. Do what you want and have fun!...See MoreJen K (7b, 8a)
