I like the how the colors of the addition tie back to the stone house window trim color.

What are you going to use for the new siding?

Thanks - yea, that was my thought as well, tie the siding color of the addition to the stone. We haven’t picked out the siding color yet. We will likely use Hardie lap siding in one of their pre-painted colors. Assuming we go w a light beige/khaki for the siding, then I’m not sure what color for the addition trim - white?

If you want pre-painted Hardie siding, Navajo Beige would work with the beige windows and the mortar on the old stone. What color is your roof?

The roof is a mid\dark brown

What’s behind door number 1? Sorry, couldn’t help it. Lovely house, it only feels stark because there are no foundation plantings. I’d pull a color out of the stone or grout and use that. And why go to all the expense of replacing siding that does not need replacing? Siding takes paint well. I need to go back and look at the front porch, but you can use some color on the front porch (seating, rug, planters, etc) and then use one of the porch colors on the side doors.

Great front porch! You can do a lot with that big space and make it really special. Where do guests enter? You want to emphasize that spot as it can be very confusing with 3 side doors. Please tell me you don’t have 2 front doors!!

Haha I was waiting for the comments on the doors! Don’t worry that is one of the reasons we are residing (along with the opportunity to do insulation, WRB, etc). We will be converting the rightmost door back to a window (matching the one right above). The front door is actually on the porch, this is what we consider our side entrance. We are also redoing the steps and beds to improve the curb appeal. And we are considering adding a portico.

Good plan to turn one of those doors into a window. (That’s one of the oddest things I’ve ever seen. Somebody really McGyver-ed that up.)

The side with the doors - is that the usual family entrance?

The left most door goes into a narrow hall/coat area. The middle door is the basement and the right door goes into the office - thinking someone tried to make a business entrance at one point?? Anyway - we actually use a fifth door off the back deck :)

Here's a quick idea I did for a new color scheme - all trim incl. porch is painted the 'desert tan' color of the current old windows. Siding a deeper khaki/tan for contrast. Added some black shutters for fun :) My biggest worry with this scheme is the white replacement windows looking odd with the trim. Thoughts?

Lovely home. I'd maybe consider LP in lieu of hardie.
