I'm not sure of exactly where you plan on putting the additional cabinets. If it's on that wall across from the DW and next to the door, you won't have clearance for traffic at all. For the fridge, the cabinet that is over the fridge looks to be a 36" or 39" cabinet, which is appropriate for a 36" (standard) sized fridge. Your fridge looks to be a 30" sized one, and this would leave you (and any future owners) without the option of getting a standard sized fridge in that location. Are you sure you want to imprison yourself to that small a size fridge forever? And, to get a deep cabinet and (very) small broom closet there, you'd need to increase the soffit depth, and go right up to the molding on the door frame. That would leave you with about a 6" exterior sized broom closet (with interior dimensions of about4 1/2" if you chose FRAMELESS cabinets only), because you would need a bit of spacer between it and the fridge. That would be a LOT of money spent on very little gain of usable space. Please post an overhead scale schematic so that we can look at the total layout of the kitchen and indicate exactly where you are talking about putting the desk area. This will help others to help you and also help you to visualize the changes you are proposing and the consequences.

That is an attractive house. I like painted brick and there's a lot of it in my neighborhood. "Off-white" is a lot of range, though--some off-whites are grayish and others are creamish, for example. I like creamy better than cooler tones, but that's me. Some pretty painted brick houses in my neighborhood are: warm gray with white trim and charcoal shutters cream with sage/taupe-y trim and shutters sage green with black shutters and there's also an electric periwinkle blue with white trim and black shutters, but that's a controversial choice among my neighbors... I wanted a black garage door and the garage door guy said that around here (Kentucky) a black door won't stand up to the heat, as black absorbs more sunlight than other colors. So, you may want to find out if that's true where you are. Or even true at all--maybe he was wrong.

Take a look at Sherwin WIlliams Believable Buff. It's a nice neutral golden tan & not too dark or light.

@decoenthusiaste LOL! I regretted the 'modern farmhouse' when I wrote it. I think I mean a monochrome look, darker overall, with siding, trim and fascia all one color. I am just not into the white highlighter outline look so many are doing. Want to be ahead of the trend and stand out. However, I am so afraid to get it 'wrong.' We did choose a roof color that pulls all the brick colors together. It's an overall medium to darker gray, with hints of warmth and black through. We would ideally like to avoid coating the brick. We would consider after, if it looks bad. We would really like to keep it and roll with it. The garage doors will be converted to one larger door, but yes, there is brick between, with a strip of hideous siding above currently. All to be redone. Unfortunately, we are headed into winter and the siding color needs to be selected this week, or we push to next year...and we just don't want to do that.
